Cause Error 5 indicates that you do not have the required permissions to access a file. With File Manager, all the read/write permissions are taken from the username and password used at login. Some files may only be accessible through a certain Windows or Mac username, so you may not be able to access them if you are using an access code or username without the proper permission for a given file. On a Mac, you may also get an Error 5 when attempting to copy to the root directory. In this case, simply choose another location that is not the root directory. Action/Workaround Option 1. When you connect to the host computer, instead of entering an access code, click More and enter the correct Windows or Mac username and password of the host computer. Option 2. If there is no Windows or Mac password associated with the username, you can edit files and folders so that they are accessible to multiple users (that is, they are not private). On Windows: Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the file or folder that you want to make accessible. Right-click on the file or folder and select Properties. On the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing. Select the Share this folder option and c

I recently subscribed to the LogMeIn Pro2 software. All is working great but today I tried to do a "Desktop Sharing" with a friend and access denied 5 I'm getting this error trying any of the "Invitation Methods":Desktop SharingFailed to create the invitation. The error received was:Access is denied. 0x80070005I'm runing on a Windows Vista Home Premium with all the latest patches & updates for both windows and LogMeIn. Anyone know what could be causing this error? I know it relates to some sort of access issue with ASP.NET but I'm not sure where this process needs the read/write permission to fix it. Any help is appreciated.Thank you,Mike Report Inappropriate Content Message 1 of 5 (6,916 Views) Everyone's Tags: 0x80070005DesktoperrorinvitationLogMeIn View All (8) Reply 1 Kudo Excelcare Group New Contributor Posts: 1 Registered: 09-05-2007 Re: LogMeIn Pro2 Desktop Sharing Access is denied error 0x8007005 Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Inappropriate Content 11-10-2009 10:44 AM Dear User,I had the same issue this end, if the system is connected to a domain then make sure someone has not applied a LogMeIn Policy which restricts Desktop Sharing or Mini Meeting. After removing this GPO and rebooting the error went away!Regards,Michael Caldecott Report Inappropriate Content Message 2 of 5 (6,864 Vie
