I have about 20 templates and about 800 html pages in a site which I manage for a University. Everything has been working fine for about 6 months, during which time I have made changes and updates via the templates to every page on the site more than once. However yesterday, suddenly, I started to receive the following error: Error accessing file "X:\staff\teach\current\teach\templates\test_teaching.dwt": bad file path (error code 3) This occurs when: 1. I modify a template file, then 2. I save it 3. Dreamweaver prompts me to update files based on the template and I click 'Update' This also occurs when I update files in any other way eg. by selecting Modify->Templates->Update Pages... I can't find information any information about "error code 3" on Macromedia's site, however it is obvious to me that Dreamweaver has the path of my template file wrong. In the error: X:\staff\teach\current\teach\templates\test_teaching.dwt is incorrect; it should read X:\staff\teach\current\templates\test_teaching.dwt ie. it has added: X:\staff\teach\current\ teach\templates\test_teaching.dwt The base folder for my site is: X:\staff\teach\current and there is no current\teach nor is there supposed to be. and I don't know where i

She uploaded the changes she made to the template, but the template will not update the child pages. I have tried to open and update the template, but when I save it, it doesn't ask if I want https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27778515/Dreamweaver-CS-5-5-Template-not-updating-child-pages.html to update the child pages. So, I went to one of the child pages and went to Modify > Templates > Update current page. Then it gives me an error message that says, "Error accessing file "Y:\Templates\ENRMD.dwt": file not found (error code 2). I had the girl who works with the site open the template on her local copy and go to Modify > Update Pages > Files That Use, it's empty. No templates show up. I have no idea what's going on because the file is there. You can see it in dreamweaver, in the Templates folder. Any ideas??? 0 Question by:savache27 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 70 Active today Best Solution byJason C. Does this message appear while uploading or viewing locally? Do you already have the site uploaded? Give me a more step by step as to how this is happening. I use DW and can probably help but I need more info. When I use the update pages facility I get the following error message: error accessing file "file path\templatename.dwt" : bad file path (error code 3) when I click OK I get this: There is an error at line 87, column 56(absolute position 3058) of path\wwwroot\aspnet_client\system_web\1_1_4322\smartnav.js" : Duplicate editable regions of name "Document body". each time I click OK I get an error: error accessing file "file path\templatename.dwt" : bad file path (error code 3) for each file that uses the template. I didn't make any changes to any site setup/paths/folders on disk/outside of Dreamweaver etc. between when it was working and it wasn't. Since then though, I have tried everything that I can think of, including removing the /teach/ from the base URL which is set in the Dreamweaver Site properties, however that didn't make any difference to the error - the path was still the same.
