What caused this error accessing error? Jared Jan 11 '08 #2 reply P: 2 thabet Hi, It wasn't me who posted the original problem mentioned above but I am facing the same issue. In my case I received the above error message when I installed IIS on Windows XP professional with SP2 and tried to check the installation by putting http://localhost in IE error accessing the v. 7.0. Best Regards Thabet Aug 6 '08 #3 reply P: 2 thabet The problem resolved by doing the following: 1. Restart Windows. 2. Perform port scanning to check that your IIS is running as a service on port 80 3. Shutting down Alarm Zone firewall. It wasn't my 1st time that I install IIS and I do not remember that I got this nasty problem before. However it wasn't with IE v.7, which I guess is the cause of all of this.
