I suspect that the error is popping up because you may have created a reference in your VBE to a library that's no longer available for some reason - maybe it was on a network share - thus the 'network connection' part of the message. If you can open the VBE and look at your references (Tools>References...) and see if any of the available references are shown as MISSING - this might be the problem. If anything shows as missing make sure it's unchecked and click the OK button to close the reference window, close the VBE and try going back in to see if you get the error any more. Hope that helps. Network Connection May have been lost. I am using Access 2000 and received the message: "Error accessing file. Network connection may have been lost". The file is now corrupt. I have a back up but I made many changes after I made the back up. I read in the forums that Microsoft has a fix for this but it is not public. Does error accessing file anyone know what this fix is? Microsft has an article in the knowledge base but it explains how to prevent the problem, not how to fix it. Please help. So I ask the Lord for His help based on that verse in the Bible which says "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God who gives to all men liberally." He led me to the right resources, and the problem is solved. Create a new database and import all the tables, modules, queries and other objects into it. Next, open a code window and click on the Debug menu, then the compile option. Clean up all the errors you encounter either by deleting the offending code or (if you need it and it's still under construction) comment it out. When you get a clean compile, save the database and exit. Make a backup copy at this point (I usually create a new folder with the date as part of the name to store it
terrible problem Error Accessing File. Network Connection Microsoft Access I have loaded Microsoft Access 2000 onto my pc and am half the way through getting my database up and running. At times i have been importing one or two things from other databases. This is related to the error. I have looked on the Microsoft site and they said that i have to recreate the database and copy the modules to text. This fix is very annoying and time consuming. Has anyone ever come across another fix for this? Many Thanks Free Excel Help Forum - Ask any question about Excel and have it answered in no time.
