Error Cannot Find Symbol Variable
structure: /com/masatosan/actions/register/RegisterAction.java /com/masatosan/redirector/ActionFactory.java According to the ANT output, I think ANT cannot find RegisterAction.java which is imported in ActionFactory.java It does compile successfully when I manually run javac on console so this must be some classpath setting that ANT is not looking at. I know I can add some jar to ANT_HOME/lib but in my case, ANT seems not be able to find ActionRegister.java, not jar or something else. Could anyone help me find out what's wrong? ANT script

It can't seem to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12447600/ant-build-javac-gives-cannot-find-symbol-error-even-though-the-needed-javax find any of this API's classes' method's even though the ant script shows it is loading the class (and I did confirm that the jms.jar is in the classpath the Ant build is using). I am also using Eclipse and this class compiles fine in Eclipse (using the same jms.jar as is in the Ant Build script's classpath). I have looked at the javax.jms API and it looks to me like I am coding this correctly. Included below is an exceprt of the code followed by an excerpt from the compile output. The build is failing due to dependencies but I don't understand why.. I have included the required dependencies in the build.xml.I would appreciate another pair of eyes.

I'm using my company's custom scripts that extend ANT and make use of a Maven POM file. This has worked fine for weeks. It's been a while since I last did an Ant build, so I have no idea what I could have changed to result in this. I should note that a normal build works just fine; Eclipse itself shows no errors. But when I run the ANT build, I get a number of errors. All of them state the name of the source file and "cannot find symbol." They then state the symbol is a specific class. Every error refers to the same class. I deleted the JAR from both the project directory and the local repository so it would be forced to pull the most up-to-date company version of the JAR. I've looked at the JAR in Eclipse and opened it to make sure that, yes, it DOES include the right file, and that file DOES include the right class. I've checked to make sure it was on the build path. Does anyone have any ideas? Jan Cumps Bartender Posts: 2602 13 I like... posted 9 years ago forced to pull the most up-to-date company version of the JAR Is it possible that this jar does not exist at the time that your build starts? When you create a compile classpath from all jar files in a certain folder, and your jar file is not yet there at that moment, it might not be in the compile classpath.
