The installation was created using Jumpstart, and all components of the product were not installed. To resolve the issue: Re-installation of the product will resolve the issue. Another possible option to resolve the issue is to follow the process below: Verify that the CPI directory exists on the system. # ls /opt/VRTSperl/lib/site_perl/UXRT5.0 CPI If the CPI directory is not existing, the directory can be copied from another available system of the same Veritas product version. If no other system is available, re-installation of the product will be necessary. If CPI exists, perform the following:

I was a regular user of Komodo and PERL for debugging large and complex CGI web applications using Apache server as a test platform. It took some time to reinstall all the necessary software on the new machine and to get everything working properly (sort of) but I am now stumped after spending the last 8 hours trying to solve a specific problem. Whenever I try to run a script with "use Archive::Extract" in it I get the following message: It looks like you don't have a C compiler on your PATH, so you will not be able to compile C or XS extension modules. You can install GCC from the MinGW package using the Perl Package Manager by running pmm install MinGW I assume this means that the Archive::Extract module mut contain some C code and PERL cannot find a c compiler. I am running Komodo IDE 5.2.4 build 37659 platform win32-x86 - on a Windows 7 64 bit computer. I am using Active PERL 5.10. For a C Compiler I am using the 64 bit compiler from Microsoft Visual Studio. I do not think there is a 64 bit version of MinGW available I installed MinGW, but I gather from som,e forum messages that it is not compatible with 64 bit windows. nd it did not work. I also installed the C compiler from Windows Studio but I am still having the problem. The following things have been checked/verified: 1)I can run PERL scripts from any directory on the computer, so PERL is in the PATH 2)I can start up the C Compiler (CL) from any directory, so it is in the PATH 3)I can start and execute perl scripts not containing the Archive::Extract module with no problem. 4)I can run the same scripts with the Archive::Extract on my old computer 5)I do not recall ever explicitly installing a C compiler on my old computer as I never use C or C++. I have searched this forum and read through several threads addressing this issue, but none of them seem to have offered a solution for my particular problem. Thanks Login to post comments It shouldn't be doing this. grahams ActiveState Staff Mon, 2011-12-19 22:05 That error message comes from PPM. So, when you run "use Archive::Extract;" it's doing two
