Check that first and then try again. thinkLinuXOctober 30th, 2010, 04:07 PMyup i did that already, thats the outcome Rubi1200October 30th, 2010, 04:25 PMOkay, next: install the following package: ncurses-term You might also want to check if you have libterm-query-perl and libncurses5-dev installed too. By they way, this seems like an awful lot of work when you could just install Pork, as suggested above by CharlesA. Powered by vBulletin Version 4.2.2 Copyright © 2016 vBulletin Solutions, Inc. on the Slug. Most of my problems seem to stemfrom the configure scripts failing to find specific headers (usuallyncurses or libjpeg).(Stop me if I'm making any incorrect assumptions here, I know I'mvirtually clueless..)I've checked in /opt/include and I'm fairly sure that I've got what Ineed in there. How do I make the configure script see them in thislocation? An example output of a configure script would be: [from BitchX]...checking whether to use use tgetent or setupterm... setuptermchecking for setupterm in -lncurses... nochecking for setupterm in -lcurses... nochecking for tgetent in -ltinfo... nochecking for tgetent in -lmytinfo... nochecking for setupterm in -ltinfo... noconfigure: WARNING: cannot find setupterm - trying tgetentchecking for tgetent in -ltermlib... nochecking for tgetent in -ltermcap... nochecking for tgetent in -lcurses... noconfigure: error: cannot find setupterm or tgetent...What does it mean by "-lncurses", "-ltinfo" etc?Apologies if this is an extremely basic query, any help greatlyappreciated.Dave[ Moderator Note: All static information is slowly moving to the Wiki at http://www.nslu2-linux.org ] Rod Whitby 2005-01-31 22:50:41 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Post by dtansley1974Being a bit of a linux compilation newcomer, I'm finding all kinds ofproblems making code on the Slug. A nice side-effect is that your package is thenready for contribution to the CVS repository (which then causes thepackage binary to be uploaded to the feed for everyone else to use).-- Rod[ Moderator Note: All static information is slowly moving to the Wiki at http://www.nslu2-linux.org ] janne 2005-01-31 23:32:10 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Post by Rod WhitbyI cannot stress strongly enough that the easiest way to nativelycompile software on the slug is to use those instructions to create anUnslung package.
