It works fine if the machine is built with Win2000 from scratch. However, when upgrading from win98 to 2000, Pal cannot work and the following error occurs when pressing 'connect':Cannot load phonebook.error 621: The system could error cannot open not open the phone book file.I tried updating the phone book which I could do, but it still didn't help when trying to dial in, it does at leastshow that the modem is working and can dial to one of your numbers. I have reinstalled Pal andeven upgraded to version4.12 but again with no luck. This problem has occured on all the machines that were upgraded. Has anybody experienced a problem like this? my windows2000 laptop, i get this error message Error 621: The system could not open the phone book file Anyone experinced this error before?? Top 1. Dial-up Phonebook Error - Can't Open Phonebook ERROR 621 When I attempt to add a phonebook entry, I get "CANNOT LOAD PHONEBOOK. ERROR 621: THE SYSTEM COULD NOT OPEN THE PHONE BOOK FILE." I do this through INTERNET OPTIONS, CONNECTIONS tab, and clicking on ADD in the Dial-up Settings section. I have attempted to clean out the INTERNET CONNECTIONS folder, but it hasn't worked. I don't know if it is a simple issue of a corrupt phonebook file that I can delete and re-create. This is a Windows 2000 laptop, with Service Pack 1 installed (and re-installed after this issue materialized). Any suggestions would be appreciated. 2. exchange 1040ST for help! 3.
