Error Cd Text Wavelab

The problem I'm finding is that CD Text is not being written to disc no matter what I try. When I burn to DDP everything is good. When I transfer my project to my PC and burn in WL7.2.1 on Windows XP to a Plextor drive everything is as it should be. It appears that the problem lies with the Superdrive itself, although the specs do say that it supports the writing of text. Has anyone else come across this problem? Any suggestions to a drive that definitely works? music_factory New Member Posts: 7Joined: Fri Jan 07, 2011 12:53 pm Hasthanked: 0 time Beenthanked: 0 time Private messageWebsite Top Reply with quote Re: Wavelab 7 CD Text issue by pwhodges » Mon Oct 08, 2012 7:35 pm How are you checking that the CD-Text has been written? Most players do not read it, but look the disk up on an online database, thus failing to find any disks you burn yourself.I understand that WaveLab itself can read the CD-Text when you rip a CD.Paul pwhodges Member Posts: 298Joined: Fri Dec 17, 2010 12:29 am Hasthanked: 1 time Beenthanked: 11 times Private messageWebsite Top Reply with quote Re: Wavelab 7 CD Text issue by music_factory » Tue Oct 09, 2012 9:25 am We have a variety of CD players that we use to check the masters, including CD Text, before pressing. These include an Arcam CD72 and Pioneer CDJ-1000. Theses machine will read the text if written using a PC, but not when written by a Mac. This would suggest that no text is actually being written by the USB Superdrive. Whether its a problem with the drive not being able to write the text or the software not supporting the drive fully is what I'm trying to work out. music_factory New Member Posts: 7Joined: Fri Jan 07, 2011 12:53 pm Hasthanked: 0 time Beenthanked: 0 time Private messageWebsite Top Reply with quote Re: Wavelab 7 CD Text issue by S-EH &raq

so I'm posting here instead. Can someone explain how to use the text editor in wave lab studio 6. I just can't work out what I'm doing wrong. I want the artist name and track title to burn to disk along with the music, but when I try I get error message 'Album title and track title are mandatory and cannot be https://japan.steinberg.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27184 ommitted!'. But I don't know Exactly what it wants me to do. The manual is useless! mellodge02-14-2008, 11:05 AMCOME ON GUYS! Surely some one must have a clue! All I want to do is be able to burn the title tracks and artist name to cd; you know, so when https://www.sweetwater.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-50439.html its played on say windows media it dosen't come up as artist unknown. I've just finished an EP for some clients, and it just looks unprofessional. I'm not using pirate software(I know how quick some of you are some times), I can't find it in the manual anywere. I'm missing a step but I don't know which one. I'll keep trying for now. Arpatle02-14-2008, 12:06 PMThe feature you are trying to use is called 'CD-Text'. A few suggestions: 1) Perhaps, special characters can't be used (like #, %, (, etc.). 2) Some track names are too long. 3) Make sure that both the software and burner support cd-text. If not, check for driver and firmware updates. 4) If you have another cd burn application like Nero, use that instead. mellodge02-17-2008, 03:04 AMNever mind, I've done it. I enter titles for each song and the composer field. Then http://recording.org/threads/cd-text-in-wavelab.10183/ burn the disc, but nothing shows up in winamp or other players. Any ideas? d./ http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/threads/creating-a-duplication-ready-master-in-wavelab.757332/ thedug, Sep 1, 2003 #1 launchpad67a Guest Hi D, Some/Most players don't display Cd text, including Windows media, Winamp, ect... Windows Media Player, Winamp need to be connected to the internet to "lookup" song titles. I know your thinking, "But it's Printed on the CD", well it is, but the display function on these players is not designed to read this. Only look error cd up titles on the web, which is bogus. Get MusicMatch Jukebox...It's the Best audio player on the market, and you can get a free version too!! The only players I have seen that will do this are car cd players, some home units and newer burners! I still write cd text to all my master cd's because it just doesn't hurt anything. At some point someone will see your song titles and think...how cool, how did they do that?? error cd text Don't sweat it, it's just a minor thing. Mike PS: I have Wavelab and it is the Best bit of software you can buy. I have the Waves Gold Bundle with it too.....Truly Awesome. Can't live without it. Here is the Wavelab Forum link, very good!! http://forum.cubase.net/cgi-bin/cubase.net/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=WaveLab&number=3&DaysPrune=10&LastLogin= launchpad67a, Sep 6, 2003 #2 falkon2 Well-Known Member Joined: Mar 17, 2003 Originally posted by launchpad67a: Get MusicMatch Jukebox...It's the Best audio player on the market, and you can get a free version too!! I will also attempt to take over your computer and open myself when you want to burn a CD, encode an MP3 or even write a letter in MSWord!" falkon2, Sep 6, 2003 #3 thedug Guest How are you burning your masters in wavelab? CD-A, PMCD, or DDP? Which of the fields for cd text is relevent? Wavelab has alot more than others. Most apps just have artist & title. Where wavelab has performer, composer, blah, blah blah. d./ thedug, Sep 6, 2003 #4 Brock Stapper Guest your cd burner must also support this feature. I'm sure you have checked this and Wavelab may even tell you... I haven't used Wavelab since a few versions back... Brock Stapper, Sep 6, 2003 #5 launchpad67a Guest Bloatware...???? Potshot Member Joined: Aug 26, 2007 Messages: 242 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 16 Location: Perth, Western Australia I was going to post this in Topsoul182's thread where I recommended Wavelab for his redbook master issue, but figured it might be helpful for a few people so thought I'd make a separate thread for it. I personally master in Wavelab, pretty straightforward for Cubase users, as it supports VST plugins. The program can be a bit counterintuitive when coming from Cubase if you expect it to work in the same fashion. If anyone is interested I can go into a more in depth tutorial about fade ins/outs on tracks, crossfading, etc, but for this one I'm just going to show how quick and easy it is to create a duplication ready DDP or physical master with ISRC code, EAN/UPC code and CD text embedded and ready to go. Step 1 is creating a new Audio Montage, do this from the floating panel by clicking the button as per the image below, after which you want to select Stereo, CD compatible, 44.1khz from the dialogue box which pops up afterward Next we want to head to the file browser in the top left corner and drag our tracks to the Montage, I prefer to render my files with the track number at the start so they all come into Wavelab in order. I also line them up on the one track as per the second image below, in order to more easily align gaps/fades/etc. Next we want to click the CD wizard, located as per the following image, where you see the CD wizard floating text dialogue. The next image shows what you will see after clicking here, I recommend sticking with the default options regarding marker creation, as this
