I am using iMovie 07 The file name is a .mov. There was another file that is two minutes that I was able to import, and it has the exact same settings as the one I can't import. This is what the pop-up says: This file could not be copied: /Users/Abert/Desktop/Concert/K4.mov ( Error code: -1429 ) Please find a way to make this work. Click Share, Did it work? Solution #2: Take a backup prior to proceeding. I ended up having to go in and remove the Render Files from my project. Find the iMovie Library then right-click and Show Package Contents. From there locate error code your project and browse to the Render Files folder. I then went into the three folders therein and deleted all the subcontent (folders/files) leaving only the three parent folders. Then open iMovie and allow the Thumbnails, Peak Data and High Quality Media re-render movie error code then try to share again. - Movies/iMovie Library/Project/Render Files Solution #3: Apple really should make it more apparent what that error message means. Evidently, Video rendering error: -50 means that there is a bad/corrupt file or image type in the project. Cutting the project into halves does help identify the bad clip.
