We have two simple solutions -- assuming you haven't installed any mods that play with root files, one of the two should work for you. If they don't, it may be time to ask us below or to re-install Skyrim (just back up your save files).1. Launch SkyrimLauncher.exe directly. Navigate to the Skyrim install folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim). Launch SkyrimLauncher.exe from this folder.2. "Verify the integrity of game cache." Open your Steam Library tab. Right-click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and select Properties. Click on the 'Local Files' tab. Click 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache..." Allow the verification and potential re-download to commence. You'll know it worked if it found a corrupt file and fixed it automatically. If neither of these works, you may have a rogue .dll or strange setting that is residual from a failed mod att

Bad Company 2, Fallout 3, Grid, PayDay: The error code 51 Heist and Trackmania: United. I've disabled about everything I can on my computer that would affect steam. No anti-virus, no firewalls, no logmein, xfire, MSI afterburner....nothing. Checked game integrity of the affected games and still nothing that makes these games work.Update 2: I think I found the real issue. After reinstalling all my games I went to launch BC2 and got the same god damn error. The only thing I had changed since I started fresh was update to the latest beta drivers. It was the NVIDIDA 295.51 Beta Drivers that was causing this error. So I rolled back to the 290.53 Beta drivers for now, and now I can play the games! Apparently thats what f'd with steam and my computer. Case facking closed. Was going to hop in the heavy metal server for a minute, tried to start the game and got this error. I know I just played this game last week. Anybody ever get this error or know how to fix it? Want to get this fixed before "Back to Heavy Metal" night. Posted by: KrisKT Date: December 22, 2008 02:05PM I don't know what the problem is. I am trying to use Carbon Copy cloner on my external hard drive-WD My Book (800 Firewire). For days I have been trying to make a clone of my iMac. No luck... I have turned everything off, done a SMC reset, zapped PRAM, switched cables, used Disk Utility to repair disk, repair permissions, erase and repartition the drive to a single partition, run Disk Warrior on the external drive (it reports no problems). Any other ideas? Happy holidays to all Below is the error message which appeared after ~4 hours of running... Mac OS X version: Mac OS not installed Bootability: This volume will be bootable. Can a corrupted file hose both programs? If DiskWarrior is finding nothing wrong then what else can I do? Options: Reply• Quote Re: CCC error message-what does this mean?
