Charter Error Code E2000
5 replies 6 have this problem 6726 views Last reply by christ1 charter error code m208 2 years ago Shonie Posted 6/22/14, 1:00 AM Our provider recently converted to Charter from Optimum. Charter's website charter error code 408 had different settings for desktops than for mobile devices, however, when I did the auto set up thru Thunderbird it went with the mobile.charter.net settings. I was able to receive messages http://www.charter.net/support/motorola-receiver-error-codes/ just fine but not send them. First I tried using the desktop settings and completely lost the ability to even receive messages so I called their support and they put me back on the mobile.charter.net settings, I had to change my password, and was then able to receive again but still not send. They didn't seem to even know what Thunderbird https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1007505 is and said my settings were correct, it must be an issue on the Thunderbird side. Settings they recommended are: Description: Charter Communications Server Name: mobile.charter.net Port : 587 User Name: xxxxx@charter.net Auth : Normal Password Security: SSL/TLS I have tried mail.charter.net / smtp.charter.net / and mobile.charter.net Very frustrated at this point. I've verified the password is correct by removing https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5558540?tstart=0 the account and re-adding it. When I do that, I see the check marks and the account is created as verified.I can receive email just fine but as soon as I go to send i get the error, cannot https://bendbroadband.com/residential/support/detail.asp?kb=100225 send email - the username or password for smtp:cgxxx@charter.net@mobile.charter.net is incorrect. The exact same settings work fine on my iPad. I can send and receive no problem. I've changed my password 10 times to something relatively simple thinking maybe I error code was using too complex a password. But it makes no difference. I can login to the web mail site using the same credentials and everything works fine. It is just my iPhone that will not send mail. I'm running iOS 7.0.3No idea what's going on. So frustrated. iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.3 Posted on Nov 13, 2013 7:46 PM I have this question too by kdkbp7,Apple recommended kdkbp7 Level 1 (12 points) A: I was having this problem, and the following charter error code fixed it:In Settings>Account>Incoming Mail server: make sure your username is the full email (____@____); make sure the password is correct.Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server, click on the outgoing mail server, click on the primary server, then you'll see the username and password for the outgoing mail server. Make sure your username is the full email (_____@____); make sure the password is correct. Then click Done. The step I was missing is that I wasn't making it to the Outgoing Mail Server, so I had the right password in the incoming mail server and the wrong password in the outgoing mail server, which was why I was getting emails but couldn't send them. Hope that helps!
