kimlaurits Members #1 Kim Laurits Kristensen 40 posts Posted 04 January 2013 - 09:49 AM Hi,I am experiencing a problem on one XenApp server in a farm. On this server it is not possible to shadow users - I get the error "Shadow failed. Error code 7044"And it is not multiple monitors that is the issue. It only occurs on this one server in the farm - all the other servers works fine. So it must be some error on this server, but I don't know which. Any ideas? 1360-323250-1705239 Back to top Pavan nannapaneni Members #2 Pavan nannapaneni 1,041 posts Posted 04 January 2013 - 01:10 PM •On each affected RDS server, open “Remote Desktop Session Host Configur(עברית)المملكة العربية السعودية (العربية)ไทย (ไทย)대한민국 (한국어)中华人民共和国 (中文)台灣 (中文)日本 (日本語) HomeOnline20132010Other VersionsRelated ProductsLibraryForumsGallery Ask a question Quick access Forums home Browse forums users FAQ Search related threads Remove From My Forums Answered by: Shadow failed, Error code 7044 and 120 with Multiple Monitors and Windows Server 2008 R2 Windows Server > Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/1ef69eca-6665-4753-8bb7-83e040b4363c/shadow-failed-error-code-7044-and-120-with-multiple-monitors-and-windows-server-2008-r2?forum=winserverTS Question 0 Sign in to vote We are in the process of moving from https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27674887/Citrix-XenApp-6-5-Shadow-Error-7044-when-shadowing-certain-users.html Windows 2003 R2 and Citrix XenApp 5 to Windows 2008 R2, and Citrix XenApp6.5. About half of our users and our entire IT Department have multiple monitors. Most of our users connect to a full desktop in Citrix. We had no problem shadowing our users in the old environment but in the new environment we get an error. error code I understand the reason for this problem is a change in how Windows 2008 R2 supports Multiple Monitors. I know this is by design according to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2484290 but the work around is not acceptable. The issue we have with the work around is that it is more time consuming and requires the user be able to accept the support request invitation. We frequently need to shadow a user when they are not at error code 120 their desk, or their Citrix session is locked up. Does anyone have a better solution or any idea whenMicrosoft will find a fix for Shadowing? There have been no announcements to add support for this in a future service pack/hotfix. My guess is that support for it will not be added to Server 2008 R2. In Server 2012 the remote control/shadowing feature no longer exists. I am working on possible solutions/workarounds and when I have more information I will update this thread. It is possible that my suggestions will help you with Server 2008 R2 multi-mon shadowingas well. -TP
