2.7 Dual Core / 6 gb When I tried to go to F8 and try boot into "Windows 7 System Recovery", I hit "Repair Your Computer" the screen goes to start the "windows is loading files" for about 5-10 seconds http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/0f00-133c-error-code-no-suitable-disk-or-media-is/66dcc559-bd4f-4b70-a39e-0dfd7669d596 then the monitor goes blank even when the power button is still lit up. I have also tried to get to (if it is there) "Dell's recovery partition" by tapping F8, no use.I've tried booting normal, safe mode, last known good configuration, "windows error recovery" screen. I can't remember what I did , but one of the attempts brought the "Windows Starting" screen but the screen was a visual mess -multi colors- but just sat there not progressing.I was hoping its http://www.computing.net/answers/hardware/do-i-have-a-faulty-hard-drive/75817.html just the Hard Drive, and I could possibly replace that and reinstall Windows 7 - from the CoA sticker on the computer or get / buy recovery disksInfo about the computer * Dell Inspiron 545 * MFG Date- 20091103 - not sure of original purchase date * 6 gb ram * 2.7 mhz intel dual core * 640 HD * 23" Monitor .....Dell ST2310fSteve See More: Do I have a faulty Hard Drive Report • #1 HopperRox March 9, 2011 at 21:08:59 Well, you can open it up and see what make the hard disk is. Go to that manufacturers website and download their drive fitness test. That will test your hard disk. It seems like a fairly new system and I suspect the Windows start up files are corrupted to the point the startup repair utility cannot fix it. In that case reinstalling Win 7 should solve your issues. New hard drives do die sometimes but it is more likely corrupt files. The hard drive can be removed and slaved into a working system, which would allow you to get your data off it before you redo windows. Was able to get http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/error-code-0f00-133c.281962/ it to run it's own diag. tests and did this for all options of testing and did http://www.geekpolice.net/t29191-black-screen-dell-inspiron this for 3 days, cause I couldn't just sit there and watch it, but in the end got the only error code ofoo:133c Anybody got a clue on how to find out what is actually wrong with it? Aiag1917, Dec 5, 2013 #6 falconattack Sergeant Major You can ensure that your hdd is correct by hooking up the hdd from your laptop to your desktop ( if you have ) as slave . you can follow this ( at page 20 ) ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-prod...op/inspiron-15-m5030_service manual_en-us.pdf also this video is very helpful :wave http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4XuPWCp7qc falconattack, Dec 5, 2013 #7 Aiag1917 Private E-2 the manual won't open, can I view it somewhere else? members.I have a relatively (2yrs) new Dell Inspiron 1545 Laptop Windows 7 Premium. It has been used very little in 2 yrs as I have 2 other PC's.Problem:Yesterday, I was using it and it was working well. Today I started the PC, on boot it goes to the Dell logo > Windows splash screen, then nothing; just a black screen with a moveable mouse pointer. I've tried starting it in all of the safe modes, with the same results black screen and mouse pointer. I have no Windows CD (Factory install) never got around to creating a CD restore image and there is no option in safe mode to do a factory reset. I'm reluctant to go out and purchase Win7 Full install if it will fail to repair the "Black Screen"I've searched the Internet to no avail. If there is a fix, any help on this would be appreciated.
