Error Code 62 Gigabyte

GTX 650 and GTX 660 graphics cards, we ran into an interesting issue. The computer would turn on, show the BIOS splash screen but won't enter the BIOS and any other keyboard shortcut functions like "Del" or "F8" are seemingly ignored. A single gigabyte z77x-ud3h bios update POST beep would be heard, and it would repeat every 5 seconds or so. Sometimes, if

you left it, it would eventually boot Windows, but the adapter wouldn't be recognized in Windows 7 64-bit when it would boot, but would show

as a "VGA Display Adapter" instead of "Nvidia GTX 650 Ti" or its respective model number regardless if the appropriate driver was installed or not. Other times, after the repeated POST beeps, a blank screen would be seen with LED debug

So you've got two options if you're running into this debug code with your new build: If you've got a spare graphics card, toss that in so you can boot into the BIOS. If you can enter the BIOS, download the latest BIOS version from Gigabyte's Z77X-UD3H product page and transfer it to a USB flash drive. If you don't have a spare graphics card, you're in luck, because the Z77X-UD3H enables use of the integrated graphics adapter of the Ivy Bridge processor. Remove your new graphic's card and plug your monitor into the DVI port on the I/O panel of your motherboard, and grab the BIOS as described in Step 1. Enter the BIOS and use EZ Flash 2 to ugrade your BIOS to the latest version. I'd recommend POSTing/booting once after the upgrade. Reinstall your new GTX 650 or GTX 660 series GPU, and enjoy! We found a similar issue posted on Tom's Hardware, so this indicates it won't be an isolated issue once Nvidia's new GPUs become more popular. Can't error code seem to pass a test boot. First time builder. Topic Archived Page 1 of 2 Last BoardsPCCan't seem to pass a test boot. First time builder.User Info: VRFTWVRFTW 3 years ago#1 I've been building my first PC, and got to the point to do a test boot, and I've having issues. I'm using a Gigabyte GA Z87X UDH3 mobo. At error code 62 first, I got error code 15 and a singular beep along with a restarting boot loop. After reading a few things, I removed one of my 4GB sticks of RAM, and it got a bit farther in the boot, but I'm still stuck. Now I'm hitting error code 62, and it refuses to boot or beep at all. The graphics card's fans are running, as are the fans on the CPU cooler, but it just refuses to do anything indefinitely. One thing I noticed is, once it hits this error, the PSU fan stops spinning. Does that mean I'm stuck with a faulty PSU?This topic is relevant to my interests. My Corsair TX650 doesn't spin unless my computer is under heavy load. As for the boot problem, did you make sure to plug both power connectors into your motherboard?Pearl Code: 0731 1228 8254 Wh

Try removing the PCI graphics card to see if it will boot to the onboard graphics. If it does maybe update to the latest official BIOS? covenantuk View Public Profile Find More Posts by covenantuk 10th Jan 2013, 17:08 #3 rossiboy001 Hitman Joined: Jan 2011 Location: Stoke on Trent Posts: 717 Hi F14 I think i remember right , TBH iv had issues all the time , but usually just unpluging the power for a few seconds does the job , but no more since i came in this afternoon . Yeah iv had this issue before thats when i updated to f14 at the time was current dont know what is now , but it still had issues , just though at that stage i learnt to just unplug it would do the trick . Iv got the card out now so i could get the bios battery out , just coming upto an hour now , Something else to note , iv got 3 screens and it posts the bios page on a different screen , also The keyboard does not respond . Not sure now iv got this far , shall i try your way first , cause iv waited an hour try with the card , if that fails again without . Also to note iv been running two 680"s with there msi factory overclock , as well the i7 2700k has been running at 4.5 ghz since i got the board , all on a 750 watt 2 rail i think antec PSU approx 2 years old , could this be weakening at this age and have a bearing ,. cheers covenantuk rossiboy001 View Public Profile Find More Posts by rossiboy001 10th Jan 2013, 17:13 #4 wazza300 Caporegime Joined: Jul 2009 Location: BenefitStreetBirmingham Posts: 26,773 whats the 62 error code in the manual? wazza300 View Public Profile Find More Posts by wazza300 10th Jan 2013, 17:18 #5 stulid Don Joined: Jan 2010 Location: weston-super-mare Posts: 65,969 Try a newer BIOS first.
