Browsing is SLOWWWWWWWW and most of the time, times out. However- it is ONLY on this computer. If I use another one everything works fast...perfect.Is my NIC going bad?I have tried a different router- same results. When I http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r2569752-PING-Transmit-Failed-error-code-65 try to renew my NIC, it says it cannot.BUT browsing is not impossible- just slow.Does anyone know what error code 65 is?Thanks so much for your help. -C · actions · 2002-Feb-21 9:03 pm · vwpiratePremium Memberjoin:2001-02-06Winter Park, FL vwpirate Premium Member 2002-Feb-21 9:44 pm Not sure what that error is but if the ip that is assigned to your nic is say 192.168.1.4 type in the following command...ping 192.168.1.4 -l 65000If you get 4 lines that say request timed out your nic is probably going bad. You could try dropping it down from 65000 to 30000 or lower if you want to see how bad it is. Make sure your firewall is turned off if you are running one. · actions · 2002-Feb-21 9:44 pm · JAAuldeWeb DeveloperMVMjoin:2001-05-09Williamsport, MDkudos:3ARRIS SB6141Ubiquiti EdgeRouter LiteUbiquiti UniFi AP JAAulde to swanboy MVM 2002-Feb-21 9:59 pm to swanboyFound some links to read through. Transmit Failed, Error Code 65 Discussion in 'Hardware' started by Laskid, Aug 23, 2004. Laskid Private First Class I have no internet connection at home now, so I wanted to get some ideas before I get home from work and http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/ping-transmit-failed-error-code-65.40473/ try to figure this out. I had Windows ME and everything was working. The system is about 3.5 yrs old, so there was a lot of crap on it. I upgraded to Windows XP and now I cannot connect to the http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/ping-transmit-failed-error-code-65-189769/ internet. I have a netgear router and dsl service. When I try to ping the router, I get 'Transmit Failed, Error Code 65'. The strange part is that I'm getting DHCP assigned addresses from the router. I read the MS article error code about Zone Alarm and ICS, but I haven't turned ZA on for a long time. Is it possible that during the upgrade the OS mixed something up? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks Laskid, Aug 23, 2004 #1 Adrynalyne Guest Zone Alarm is for certain the culprit. Uninstall it, and the problem should go away. Adrynalyne, Aug 23, 2004 #2 Adrynalyne Guest To answer your question, yes, the upgrade probably did it. You should never, ever, upgrade an OS transmit failed error with antivirus or firewalls on the system. Especially going to a completely different OS. Adrynalyne, Aug 23, 2004 #3 Laskid Private First Class Ok...I'll try that when I get home. If it works, I'll update the thread tonight. If not, I'll be on here whining tomorrow. Thanks Adrynalyne. Laskid, Aug 23, 2004 #4 Adrynalyne Guest Sure thing Let us know how it turns out. Sometimes, ZA won't uninstall properly if its been upgraded over. So you might have to contend with that as well. Adrynalyne, Aug 23, 2004 #5 Laskid Private First Class Good call Adrynalyne. Uninstalled Zone Alarm, which btw I forgot was there because it's been awhile since I used it, then reset my modem and tested through the router. Obviously, I'm back online. Thanks for the help, and I'll keep better track of what's on my system from now on! Thanks again. Try removing everything connected to your network, and re-install.Make sure you have TCP/IP as a protocol Yoda Knight 15:21 22 Mar 05 OK, I was wrong.....click here;en-us;316414 Yoda Knight 15:24
