Tried resetting the cpu, removing the 4 pin molex power (gave me an 87 post code and shut down) and doing a barebone boot with no video or drives and still get 9.0 post code. Tried different ram , different slots same results. Any other suggestions before I rma the board? THe bottom pci-e slot is the slot that is used while running single card on my ECS ka1 mvp http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/doom3owns/12de5708.jpg SEE^ I BELIEVE the at8 might need to be run the same way. also try clearing cmos and trying different dimms,. Theres only one way to install a processor i hope you didnt actually bend and pins on that cpu. When installing the cpu always look for a arrow or triangle marking on the cpu pcb and a triangle or arrow on the socket match them together and that means thats the way its meant to be installed and it should drop right into place without having to worry about bending pins . A processor only drops in one
have tried a new floppy drive to no avail. The problem occurs with (definitely connected correctly) or without a floppy attached. At this stage there is no access to the BIOS settings. I've tried resetting the CMOS, also to no effect. Has anyone any ideas please? I'm stuck. Its 'assumed' that you cleared the CMOS mem, via the "shorting" pins on the mobo, and never had the ?opportunity? to properly re_set the parms in it. With "no" apparent access to the bios (menues) , and a zapped CMOS mem ... it seems like you're 1st task aughta be gaining access to the bios menus. ??? "What" actions were taken to gain access to the bios menues ??? ??? Prior to all "this" ... did you re_flash the BIOS .bin file .. ???
