Installed (2) C-RIMMS and (2) 256 MB RIMMS (Samsung p/n MR18R082GBN1). Getting Error Post Code "C1" when I power up with a long beep which repeats. I have reseated the memory and C-RIMMS several times using the manual's diagram. I also wore E.S.D protection while assembling the system. I am using an Intel "Northwood" 1.80A CPU. Does anyone have http://abit.ws/faq/code.html any suggestions? Is it the "Northwood Support" BIOS problem ? #1 bobbyg, Feb 21, 2002 Kanly Senior member Joined: Oct 23, 1999 Messages: 922 Likes Received: 0 I get the same thing. Currently just have ram, video card, keyboard and mouse installed. Using the power button onboard the mobo to turn it on. Post Code hangs at C1. Seems to go C1 > AF > C1 then hangs. Don't have the speaker hooked up so nut sure if I get any beeps. https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/abit-th7ii-raid-post-code-c1.740113/ Don't get any video output though. Have a P4 1.6A and TH 7 II with 2001 sound. Got both from Newegg last week. Bump up for some help. #2 Kanly, Mar 24, 2002 Kanly Senior member Joined: Oct 23, 1999 Messages: 922 Likes Received: 0 Hmm, reading some other forums it seems maybe that code might be related to an incompatible video card? Which is strange since I'm using a Radeon 8500. #3 Kanly, Mar 24, 2002 PowerEngineer Platinum Member Joined: Oct 22, 2001 Messages: 2,701 Likes Received: 3 This problem does not sound like the version 37 BIOS problem. I believe people with this problem were reporting a code 19, and this seems to be limited to the P4A 1.6 GHz CPU. An admittedly small sampling of other buyers suggests that boards delivered with the AC2001 sound are coming with the version 38 BIOS (and the ICS -03 chips). If you haven't already been there, you might want to visit the Intel--Abit Motherboards forums over at overclockers.com. There's a lot of good information on TH7II boards posted there. Good Luck! #4 PowerEngineer, Mar 24, 2002 Kanly Senior member Joined: Oct 23, 1999 Messages: 922 Likes Received: 0 Thx for the suggestion PowerEngineer. FWIT: mine came with the -03 ICS chips. #5 Kanly, Mar 24, 2002 Kanly Senior member Joined: Oct 23, 1999 Messages: 922 Likes Received: 0 Well, as an update: Used compressed air to blow out all the memory slots

Abit were one of the first motherboard manufacturers to make an error codes i850 board available, the TH7. This utilised a socket 423 and was used with the original PIV, the Willamette. Building on their laurels after the success they achieved with that board, they have now introduced the TH7-II, for use with socket 478 PIV. This is still an area where few boards are available, with only competition from MSI, Asus, Gigabyte and Intel with its abit th7 error reference board. Abit has always been the overclocker's choice, as they implement numerous features that other manufacturers do not, such as the very easy to use SoftMenu III system. Board Features The TH7-II is a well specified board, and comes supplied with everything you could need to get it up and running. It has a very good feature set, and if required, can be purchased with the Highpoint onboard raid controller. CPU Supports Intel Pentium®4 Socket478 processor (400MHz System Data Bus) Chipset Intel® 850 (ICH2) chipset Supports 400MHz (Front Side Bus) Memory Supports up to Four 184-pin Direct Rambus RIMM modules up to 2GB (PC600/800) Ultra DMA 100/RAID High Point HTP370 IDE Controller (Optional) Audio AC'97 Digital Audio controller integrated BIOS SoftMenu™III Technology Multi I/O 4 Channels Bus Master IDE Ports support to 8 Ultra DMA 33/66/100 Devices. Miscellaneous 1 AGP slot, 5 PCI slots and 1CNR slot The onboard sound is only a standard AC97 codec, but it's adequate for normal everyday use, although hardcore gamers will most likely put in a PCI soundcard. The board is supplied in Abits standard packaging, and included with the motherboard a

For some reason I don't come very far. I don't even manage to get it stable with a FSB of 110 only (pci/agp and rambus freq fixed)... However, if I go any higher the motherboard starts to beep like crazy and displays the post code "AF"... I don't know what this means since it's not in the manual. Anyone? =) Reply With Quote Quick Navigation Motherboards Top Site Areas Settings Private Messages Subscriptions Who's Online Search Forums Forums Home Forums General Hardware/Software Technical Support Q/A General Hardware Operating Systems General Software, Applications, and Drivers Gadgets and Gizmos Reviews Programming, Coding, and Scripting Highly Technical PC Forum Hardware Specific CPU/Processors & Overclocking Reviews Cases and Cooling Reviews Completely Custom Motherboards Reviews Video Cards & Monitors Reviews Storage and Media Reviews Sound Cards, Speakers, and Headphones Reviews Networks & Networking Mobile Computing Reviews Specialized Computing Community Ask The Sharky Team Article Feedback Classifieds Buy & Sell Sharky Games Forum General Games Forum Reviews Upcoming Games Gaming Help « Previous Thread | Next Thread » Posting Permissions You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts BB code is
