Collectd Putval
Message If Status is greater than or equal to zero the message indicates success, if Status is less than zero the message indicates failure. Message is a human-readable string that further describes the return value. On success, Status furthermore indicates the number of subsequent lines of output (not including the status line). Each such lines usually contains a single return value. See the description of each command for details. The following commands are implemented: GETVAL Identifier If the value identified by Identifier (see below) is found the complete value-list is returned. The response is a list of name-value-pairs, each pair on its own line (the number of lines is indicated by the status line - see above). Each name-value-pair is of the form name=value. Counter-values are converted to a rate, e.g. bytes per second. Undefined values are returned as NaN. Example: -> | GETVAL myhost/cpu-0/cpu-user <- | 1 Value found <- | value=1.260000e+00 LISTVAL Returns a list of the values available in the value ca

Into my tcpdump i see some messages between the two hosts but nothing is https://github.com/perfwatcher/collectd-pw/issues/11 written on server side concerning my collectd client. Are these versions compatibles ? Thanks. PerfWatcher member feraudet commented May 5, 2014 Hi, These version are compatible. Is your datas are visible when you do a collectdctl listval ? samyscoub commented May 5, 2014 With this command i've this result : $# collectdctl listval ERROR: Failed to connect to daemon at unix:/usr/var/run/collectd-unixsock: No such file or directory. And in my tshark capture i've found this : ... 28 values for 6 plugins, 0 messages, 29 unknown Can you help me please ? PerfWatcher member feraudet commented May 5, 2014 Unknown values look like as a types.db issue. Have a look on TypesDB part of your configuration. Be sure files exists. samyscoub commented May 5, 2014 Here are my existing Types files : TypesDB "/usr/share/collectd/types.db" "/etc/types-perfwatcher.db" And the fields into the tshark capture : queue_length,entropy,load,users,swap_io,if_octets,if_packets,if_errors,if_octets,if_packets,if_errors,if_octets,if_packets,if_errors,memory,ps_state,fork_rate cpu,if_octets,if_packets,total_values,queue_length,entropy,load,users,swap_io,if_octets,if_packets,if_errors,if_octets,if_packets,if_errors if_octets,if_packets,if_errors,memory,ps_state,fork_rate,cpu,if_octets,if_pa
[PATCH 1/2] Add collectd-flush command line utility. Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] collectd-flush is a small command-line utility which uses libcollectdclient to flush collectd through the unixsock plugin. As far as I know, there is no easy https://mailman.verplant.org/pipermail/collectd/2010-August/004027.html way to work with unix sockets from the shell, so if someone wanted to flush collectd without this program, they would need to do it through some other language (or restart the deamon). I am no C wizard, https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ci-multi-runner/issues/1035 so please bear with me if I have done something a stupid way. :) The code is based on/inspired by collectd-nagios. If this message is not properly encoded as utf-8, something wrong must have happened with my mailer. error connecting If that's the case, I'm sorry. The only non-ascii character in the patch is the second character of my name, which is an å. Signed-off-by: Hakon J Dugstad Johnsen
