Solved Slave cannot connect to Master Posted on 2005-01-03 MySQL Server http://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/111322/mysql-master-master-replication-problem 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 6,311 Views Last Modified: 2012-06-22 I'm attempting to set-up a slave/master replication process for the first time. I have followed this procedure... 1. On Master - GRANT REPLICATION SLAVE ON *.* TO username@slavehost IDENTIFIED BY 'password'; 2. Installed the same version of MySQL on the slave. 3. I have duplicated the exact databases https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21259879/Slave-cannot-connect-to-Master.html to the slave host. 4. Configured the MASTER with server-id = 8 log-bin=binary_log Followed by a restart of the master server 5. Configured the SLAVE with server-id = 7 master-host = masterhostname master-user = username master-password = password 6. Restarted the SLAVE It seems that access is being denied for the username and password that I set-up for the slave host. I double checked everything and the username, host, and password seems to be correct but I can not connect...... E:\mysql41\bin\mysqld-nt: ready for connections. You either need to issue another CHANGE MASTER on 10.10.10.60 specifying the correct username or you need to grant replication_slave privileges to the 'test'@'10.10.10.60' user on the other master. If you are using master-master replication you will need to add parameters to the my.cnf files on all servers to tell it how to handle auto_increment keys. These are auto_increment_increment should be equal to the number of masters you have, N; auto_increment_offset should be different, from 1 to N, on each master.
