When I use the debugger I get the error below. I'm using the debugger thru a SSL VPN (sock proxy) and thru a firewall. It seems like the connection is getting cut-off on it way back to the client. The debugger works fine inside our network and firewall. I have included both IP address and FQDN of PC server in the hosts file on both the server and client machine outside the firewall. I have looked at the VPN logs and it looks like the communication going back to the client is using the server's shortname. The ports are open. Any help would be appreciated.Establishing a connection to the Integration Service is_hpo...Integration Service is_hpo acknowledged its ability to debug a mapping.Initializing debugger...Sending request to Integration Service is_hpo to debug mapping m_testKBMBGBTB...Waiting for Integration Service to initialize...Error connecting to the DTM at : Error connectin
is a chance thatduring debug initializationyou might get: Error connecting to the DTM at [%s : %d]: [%s] Server execution failed, forcing shutdown of the debugger... Debugger shutdown complete. The first step towards the resolution to this common issue resides at the hosts file. Thus open hosts file under c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\ and enter the entry corresponding to Powercenter Integration Service Node xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

A range for port numbers can be specified with the DebuggerMinPort and DebuggerMaxPort custom properties of the PowerCenter Integration Service. If these properties are not specified the port range of 9229-9329 is used and the Integration Service will take the first available port in this range.3.The server sends an acknowledgment to the client which includes the hostname and port number to be used. 4.The client tries to connect to the server using the given hostname and port. 5.If after 10 tries, if the client still fails to connect to the server, the above error is displayed. Solution To resolve this issue, do the following: 1.The server sends a host name, and not an IP address. If the client cannot resolve the host name issued to a valid IP address, then the connection attempt will fail. In this case you should enter the host name of the server with its corresponding IP address in the host files of the client (Usually c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts on Windows ).2.If the resolved address of the system, where the debugger will run, is not reachable by the client, then you will get an err
solutions for this issue -Go to Designer - Tools - Options - Debug - TCP/IP - Check the option which says 'Pick a port number between min and max.." If this does not work - Go to Host file - Add a entry as [ ip addr] [space] [machine name of the integration service machine]After this the debugger should start working.
