Error Creating The Output Bitmap File Bginfo Used By Another Process
2008 at 6:55am Hello all We're testing BGinfo. I'm getting an error message on a few PCs.
Error Creating The Output Bitmap File Access Is Denied
Making the user a local admin sorts it out, but is there another way? For security reasons we don't want to make everyone a local admin. We've added a logon script
Bitmap Location Menu Item
to Group Policy, the script works perfectly on those PCs whose users are local admins but it brings up an error message on non-local admin users' PCs: "Error creating the output bitmap file: C:\windows\bginfo.bmp: Access is denied. Please ensure the path exists and you have permissions to write it. You can select a different output path for the bitmap using the bginfo error loading bitmap location menu item". Some users have personalised their desktops and we don't want to remove those rights, so we can't "force" a particular bitmap on them by putting the bitmap on a share accessible by everyone and forcing them to use it. In short, we want everyone to be able to keep their current wallpaper, be they local admin or not. Everyone's wallpaper will be stored on their local drive (C:\Windows). But we want the BGInfo information about the PC displayed too. Any ideas, folks? We have an Enterprise Agreement with MS, by the way, if that's of any relevance to anyone. As far as I'm aware we're good to use it as stated above. Thanks for any assistance Stephen Spin Members Profile Send Private Message Find Members Posts Add to Buddy List Newbie Joined: 10 January 2008 Location: United Kingdom Status: Offline Points: 1 Post Options Post Reply QuoteSpin Report Post Thanks(0) QuoteReply Posted: 07 February 2008 at 3:49am These users are trying to access the c:\windows folder and they dont have the r
