My reports are all in a folder on the server (they are designed using Crystal reports v8.5) When I try to run my program from the server, everything http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?245804-quot-Error-detected-by-database-DLL-quot works fine. When I run my program from the client pc's everything also works fine, except for the reports. They aren't appearing in the screen and instead I get an error message: "Error Detected by Database DLL" (or smthg like that) I thought maybe it's because on the server I have Crystal Report installed. So I tried to install it on the client PC, but I get the same message. Please help me. What can I do? What's causing this problem? Thank you all Reply With Quote May 20th, 2003,01:45 PM #2 Pasvorto View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage PowerPoster Join Date Oct 2002 Location Minnesota, USA Posts 2,951 Can you run the report manually from the client? Is the db password protected? If so, you must supply the necessary login data: Set Report = crxApplication.OpenReport("Y:\DAD\QCInspectionOut.rpt", 1) For Each crxDatabaseTable In Report.Database.Tables If UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC1" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC17" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC25" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC33" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC41" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQC9" Or UCase(crxDatabaseTable.Name) = "TMPQCINSPOUT" Then crxDatabaseTable.LOCATION = "Y:\DAD\Temporary.mdb" Else crxDatabaseTable.SetLogOnInfo "", "", "", "password-here" crxDatabaseTable.LOCATION = "Y:\DAD\Techni.mdb" End If Next crxDatabaseTable Report.SelectPrinter glbPrinterDriver, glbPrinterName, glbPrinterPort If glbPri

When I install the application on a new Windows 98 only machine, it triggers the error 'Error detected by database DLL' and the Crystal Reports ActiveX fails to show the error detected by report. The installer is built by the Project & Deployment Wizard of VB 6. Crystal, P2BBDE.DLL, U25Store.DLL, U25Total.DLL & U2LBar.DLL remains missing for the installer, I didn't find the files on my machine even after installing Crystal Reports 8! PLEASE HELP- THIS IS MORE THAN URGENT. Crystal Reports Control (all version) requires DAO to work with MS Access database. It is strange that this control is not shipped with a dependancy information that might instruct VB PDW what files to include in the distribution. For Access 97 database, MSDAO350.DLL is required, and for Access 2K or later, MSDAO360.DLL is required. These DLLs are found at 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\' path (the path may differ depending on your OS installation). In the VB PDW, add the MSDAO350.DLL & MSDAO360.DLL manually, all the dependancies will be included automatically by the Wizard (VB PDW is intelligent enough, it is Crystal Reports control that is a dum

Hi,
I am attempting to integrate a Crystal Report with a Remedy custom
application and getting two errors using the User Tool trying to record a
macro.
1)Error detected by database DLL (Crystal error I think)
2)Error occurred in generating report (ARERR 1658)
I have tried replacing the crpe32.dll file with version 7 and have tried
version 8.5
Any information /assistance would be greatly appreciated
Environment:
RAS 4.51
Oracle 8i
Crystal Reports Professional 8.5
Thanks,

Its usually one of 3 things.
1. the report needs the correct remedy odbc configuration (system)
2. or it's a rights issue. Either you wont have rights to some field
in the form. Or it's a JOIN form and you have rights to the field
in the join form but not the parent form.....
3. a viewier issue. If you have crystal 8.5 try actually installing
the complete viewer. Its on the enterprise standard disk.
It's almost always one of these issues. good luck.
