Error Establishing Socket To Host And Port 1433. Reason Connection Refused Connect
it seems. biffjingle Guest April 1st,03:06 PM #2 Re: Error establishing socket. Connection refused:connect As soon as I saw that Service Pack 2 had a built in firewall .. that to me said STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THAT GARBAGE. ( being a developer that is ) .. I have had experiences in the past where just installing a oracle jdbc driver error establishing socket to host and port firewall ed up my hours and hours spent configging localhost to work with CF mx server. I ended up going with Tiny Personal Firewall then Sygates free one. Zone Alarm worked me and the uninstall didn't do much but kill my OS install. Sounds like xp pro / sp1 is good place to stay. Solas Guest April 20th,04:24 PM #3 Re: Error establishing socket. Connection refused:connect I spent an entire morning trying to solve the connection issue between SQL Server and CF Server until I found your post. YOU HAVE SAVED ME FROM SUICIDE! I'm praying to GOD that he lets you in Heaven when you die; no matter what you have done wrong. Thanks a million! Scandle Guest June 21st,09:28 AM #4 Re: Error establishing socket. Connection refused:connect Hi I've experienced the same problem with xp2 - and used the odbc connection, which worked fine up to a point. Although certain pages in my site stopped working and I got a message that the functionality wasnt supported by the odbc connection. Has anyone come ac
hit a small issue when trying to add the database as a datasource within the ColdFusion administrator, receiving the following error: Connection verification failed for data source: romixrDB java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer error establishing socket to host and port: 127.0.0.1:1433. reason: connection refused: connect JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: 127.0.0.1:1433. Reason: Connection refused: coldfusion error establishing socket to host and port connect The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: 127.0.0.1:1433. macromedia sqlserver jdbc driver error establishing socket to host and port Reason: Connection refused: connect You can see a connection issue with the datasource, with a failure to connect on the socket using the localhost (127.0.0.1) and port number (1433). http://www.justskins.com/forums/error-establishing-socket-connection-23776.html By default, SQL Server 2008 doesn't have the port number enabled. To resolve the issue, open up your SQL Server Configuration Manager application (Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2008 -> Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Configuration Manager). Expand the SQL Server Network Configuration menu item, and click on the Protocols option for the server, which will display the list https://www.monkehworks.com/local-sql-server-2008-coldfusion-datasource/ of protocols in the main window: Right-click on the TCP/IP option, and select 'properties' from the context menu, which will open up the properties window. Change the 'Enabled' option to YES under the 'Protocol' tab. Selecting the 'IP Addresses' tab, you can see the TCP Port for all IP references is set to 1433, the default port. You can also set the 'Enabled' option for the IP1 and IP2 options to 'YES' here as well. Click 'Apply' to save your changes. The changes are now saved, but you will need to restart the SQL Server service before they take effect. To do so, select the 'SQL Server Services' option in the config manager, and select the SQL Server item from the list. Click the 'Restart service' icon on the toolbar (circled). Back into the ColdFusion Administrator, verify the connections again, and the new SQL Server datasource should be OK now that the ports have been opened on the database server. there on this subject but I seem to have to reinstall sql server on my laptops often and I always have to hunt down how to do it so I thought I would http://blog.ryanvikander.com/index.cfm/2010/8/11/Using-Local-SQL-Server-Express-2008-Server-with-Coldfusion post a blog so it would be a bit more recent. I won't go over installing SQL Server Express, it takes a while seems like a good 30 minutes. Anyways, once you install it you can connect https://webservices.thesba.com/forum/index.php?topic=33640.0 to your local database by connecting to the server (depending on what you named your server) [PC_Name]\SQLEXPRESS and depending on if you are using windows authentication you would enter your user name and password.Ok so once you've error establishing gotten that installed there are some more tricky stuff you need to do within SQL Server. First you will need to turn on TCP/IP which is located under Start > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 > Configuration Tools > SQL Server Configuration Manager. Once you open up the manager go under: SQL Server Network Configuration and click on Protocols for SQLExpress (I assume this the name of the server). By default TCP/IP is disabled. error establishing socket So enable it by right clicking and enabling it. You will be prompted to restart your server service but I would wait until finished to do so. Now double-click TCP/IP or right click and go to Properties. Go into the IP Addresses tab and for each IPs enter in under TCP Port 1433. This allows for Coldfusion to connect to your database. Now you can apply and restart your server service. A tip if you skip that last step you will get this annoying error message and this is why I needed to post this:Connection verification failed for data source: rvikander java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: localhost:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: localhost:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connectIf anyone has any thoughts or questions I would love the comments. Otherwise I hope this helps someone. Do 'telnet localhost 1433' see if it fail
