It then goes to configure the installation. If I exit out of the configurator, Excel runs properly. I have seen numerous other threads, however those threads say that I should use Microsoft Fix-it, however when I try it the Microsoft Fix-it says that my operating system does not apply. I am using Windows 8.1. Also, if you were wondering, Microsoft Word works well. How can I fix this? (Yes, I did run a virus scan) Thanks! Surprisingly, that did not work at all. It might be linked to when I installed a trial version of Home and Student 2013 to try it out, and then I uninstalled it, leaving the 2007 version intact. I haven't installed another version of any Office program on my computer. There are solutions for this in a variety of places but I am a little different: I do not have other versions of any Office program on my computer; and I do not have my original install disks (my parents bought me this laptop from a electronics store and were not given any disks). I have already gone into the Control Panel, Uninstall, and repaired Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. After restarting my computer and trying Excel, it still does the exact same thing. I am afraid of doing stuff in my registry. Is there another solution that I can try if I don't have the install disks? Update: I am afraid that I do not set up restore points on my computer. To restore it, I would be losing too much. At this point, I'm considering uninstalling all my Microsoft Office products and buying 2010 or 2013.
