dr_gorerotteddr_gorerotted 8 years ago#2i believe it has something to do with your hdd.. you might want to take a look at this websitehttp://www.instant-registry-fixes.org/fixing-crc-error/User Info: jurrian91jurrian91 8 years ago#3Find out what brand your HDD is, go to the site of that manufacturer and download the diagnostic tools for your HDD. Either that or download the newest "Hiren's Boot CD" and burn it to a CD. That one has a lot of diagnostic tools for all sorts of hardware (and software). The diagnostic tools should be able to tell you if there's anything wrong with your HDD.This made my laugh hard. ~Nova MK VIUser Info: luckssluckss 8 years ago#4I had the same problem and it took me 2 days to come across this... try at ur own risk. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted; contact your software vendor." It gave me the option to abort, retry, or ignore, so I retried it and then when that didn't work I ignored it. The game continued to install without trouble but when it finished http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/918428-fallout-3/46231983 and I went to play the screen would go black like it was starting up then just crash. I restarted and tried again with the same affects. I just uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it with the same affect. At this point I'm just going to go back to gamestop tomorrow and try to get a new disc. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if it's possible to work around without the trip to the mall.User Info: Lupus1339Lupus1339 (Topic Creator)8 years ago#2I've been awake for about 20 hours and need to be at work in 9 hours... someone help me so I can either give up and go to sleep or try and make things better.User Info: Rocco420Rocco420 8 years ago#3Yes that exact thing happened to me.I dunno what to tell you though because I am having other issues that wont even let me play the game.Auto run wouldnt even pop up I had to install via exploring the disc.Oversteer scares the passengerUndersteer scares the driverUser Info: TarjanianTarjanian 8 years ago#4Hey Lupus1339,I had the exact same issue, it scared the crap out of me because I have been waiting for this gamefor over thee years! Overall sounds like a bad disc though B-NoQMember Since: January 14, 2009Posts: 25B-NoQFollowForum Posts: 25Followed by: 0Reviews: 0 Stacks: 0Forum Karma: 0#4 Posted by B-NoQ (25 posts) - 7 years, 9 months agodamn .. well i'm gonna try and get tech support here in a second to see whats going on thatx for the help Captain__TrippsMember Since: December 24, 2006Posts: 4521Captain__TrippsFollowForum Posts: 4521Followed by: 0Revi

I finally decided to play all those Fallout 3 dlc´s that I bought but never played, and see what good mod´s are around. So I had to install it again and the following error: While installing from DVD I get always an error at the same point: while extracting data2.cab I get: data error (CRC check) The currently file installing shows as textures.bsa I would think faulty/scratchy disk or my DVD drive, but I know that I had the same error back when I installed it the 1st time on the machine, and I got it solved. But being TheStupidGerman that I am, I can´t remember the solution My machine has been wiped completely since then as I the motherboard has been changed, got a new gpu (hd4870. 1gb) but it´s the same model as before. All other components are the same as before. Running Win7 64bit, AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3ghz, 4gb DDR3 RAM. I tried to run in XP compatibility mode, that didn´t help. Maybe it´s a copy protection issue with Securerom or maybe some burning tools? Your help is very much appreciated. Cheers! Join Date Jul 2006 Location ::1 Try copying the disk to your drive as an ISO, then mounting it and installing it that way. This is usually a good way to get around faulty disks. I don't think there's copy protection on the disk, but I'm not sure. MODS FOR THE MOD GOD! Join Date Sep 2004 You don't necessarily even need to iso it - just copy the files across into a folder on your desktop and install from there. First, though, you should give the disk a good (and careful) clean - that might be enough to get it working for you.
