Is this possible? Having read around the subject I don't have much hope but would like expert confirmation it is impossible or hopefully a solution. ms-access-2007 upgrade ms-access-2003 share|improve this question asked Apr 28 '14 at 20:46 authentictech 172313

Application.ConvertAccessProject might do it. –Robert Harvey♦ Apr 28 '14 at 20:50 @RobertHarvey, that looked promising but it only works with non-encoded databases i.e. MDB and ACCDB, not MDE or ACCDE. Thanks. –authentictech Apr 29 '14 at 16:50 Try this: social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/… –Robert Harvey♦ Apr 29 '14 at 16:57 I saw it before but it does seem to only encode MDB databases to MDE. –authentictech Apr 29 '14 at 19:44 Is there a particular reason why the back-end database files are .mde/.accde files? –Gord Thompson Apr 30 '14 at 12:41 | show 3 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted If you are really limited to just MDE/ACCDE format, this appears to be impossible. One imperfect way you could do it, if you only use tables and queries, is to create a new database in the desired format, and import the tables and queries from the old database. This is because using the MDE/ACCDE format, you cannot import or export forms, modules, and macros. To try this produces the error: Error 29045: Description: "You can't import, export, create, modify, or rename any forms, reports, pages or modules in an ACCDE, MDE or ADE database." If using just ta

I the click event of the sync button I create a sql server ce file. In Sql server 2005 I've set up a local publication following a hands on guide. The snapshot is generated. When it tries to replicate it http://www.sqlteam.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=78634 gives me the error: Error 29045 Initializing SQL Server Reconcilier has failed. I've been looking on the web for clues and this error seems to arise from different problems. But I've gone through this checklist:Checked the ntfs permission on the repldata share. Changed the sql server agent from local user to domain administrator account. The snapshot is created. What else could be the problem? Ok this is the error from the snapshot agent monitor:Command attempted:{call sp_MSchecksnapshotstatus (N'ProcDb')}Error messages:Publication 'ProcDb' does not exist. Ensure that the publication exists and that the account under which the Merge Agent connects to the Publisher is included in the publication access list (PAL). (Source: MSSQLServer, Error number: 21423)Get help: http://help/21423The publication exists. As I wrote earlier it generates a snapshot. And yes the Merge Agent is included in the publication access list. to prompt the user, I first delete the report. Once I had the delete, create and save steps all functioning fine, I converted to an ACCDE file and get http://moonnightjobs.net/accde-error-29045-when-deleting-or-saving-report-297913 the following error when I run the code: "Error 29045: You can't import, http://www.utteraccess.com/forum/lofiversion/index.php/f59-2250.html export, create, modify, or rename any forms, reports, pages or modules in an ACCDE, MDE or ADE database." Here's the weird bit -- even though I get the error, it still lets me delete, create and save Report1. In fact, the entire code SEEMS to run just fine. I know I can simply trap error handling the error in VBA and ignore it with a resume next so the user never sees it, but here are my concerns: 1) How do I figure out what portion of my code is causing the error? (Is there any way to debug an ACCDE?) 2) If I hide/ignore the error what unanticipated negative consequences am I likely to experience? Any thoughts? Thanks!
