one used by eclipse (the little yellow triangle). How can I get an image descriptor of this icon? I tried using workbench.getSharedImages().getImageDescriptor(ISharedImages.IMG_DEC_FIELD_WARNING) since that ID seems to match what I'm looking for, but the shared images collection doesn't actually have that image in it (so I just get a null returned). Is there some other shared image collection that I should be looking at? eclipse eclipse-plugin icons share|improve this question edited Mar 13 '10 at 5:33 asked Mar 13 '10 at 4:51 Stan 644416 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted You have run across an Eclipse bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=304397 The bugzilla entry gives this code as workaround: ImageDescriptor descriptor = JFaceResources.getImageRegistry().getDescriptor("org.eclipse.jface.fieldassist.IMG_DEC_FIELD_WARNING"); share|improve this answer answered May 24 '10 at 13:15 Bananeweizen 16.4k53969 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Pas

Hi, be sure you are using the right "ISharedImages". There are several types from different plugins called "ISharedImages" or "SharedImages", and probably you are getting the wrong. For example, these work for me: PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getSharedImages().getImage(org.ecl ipse.ui.ide.IDE.SharedImages.IMG_OBJ_PROJECT); PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getSharedImages().getImage(org.ecl ipse.ui.ISharedImages.IMG_OBJ_FILE); JavaUI.getSharedImages().getImage(org.eclipse.jdt.ui.IShared Images.IMG_OBJS_CUNIT); In general, most UI plugins have a shared image type. Note that instead of getImage() some types also offer getImageDescriptor() (some APIs require this in place for images). Hope this helps, Mário Report message to a moderator Previous Topic:How to put /usr/X11/bin on PATH for maven build in Eclipse on Mac OS X Next Topic:Remote debugging wtih Zend; XP -> linux Goto Forum: - NewcomersNewcomers- Language IDEsAJDTAndmoreC / C++ IDE (CD
