Does anyone know what the cause is and how to resolve it?Thanks,Ugo Tuesday, January 23, 2007 10:38 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote I had the same problem. Only then every 5 minutes. I simply disabled the service. But you can set the service to index every hour or day. On your server, go to this address:http://localhost:4721/default.aspxThen go to Operations, Services on Server and then you can stop or start the service.Or you can click on "Windows SharePoint Services Search" so you can edit your settings. Also there is this solution: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909505#topBut I couldn't find 'In the Search Settings and Indexed Content section, click Manage Crawls of site directory.' on the homepage.. :S Like I have a total different 'Homepage' (http://companyweb/)Hope this solves your problem.. Jul 2005 05:05:15 We're getting these errors repeatedly in our gatherer logs. I've found a few post about the errors, but the answers would seem to be irrelevant to our installation. On 29/7/05 21:05, in article XXXX@XXXXX.COM , Top The address could not be found, (0x80042616 - Error in the Site Data Web Service. ) by Tony McInt » Tue, 02 Aug 2005 03:43:35 The 2616 error is produced from SPS when trying to crawl an item in WSS. The Site Data Web Service is returning a bad return code and SPS just throws out the 2616 as a standard error. I would suggest looking at the url that it is complaining about and try to determine if there is a folder or something with an & in it. It is also possible that you might find an AD account that is permissioned to that site with an & in its name. Just a couple of thoughts. not sure about the 2617 error. Kinda funny - we were just setting up a dev SPS2003 environment, but the box we had it on also had Indigo/Avalon and .NET 2.0 beta 2. Uninstalled those and the error messages went away.
