When I try to communicate with the chassis 1033 using its PXIe card my computer does not recognize it (the PCdisplays the following message during the booting step: "Alert! Error Initializing error initializing pci PCI express Slot 4). It worked just fine before, but the chassis was disconected with the PC turned on. I've read that this may cause communication crashes, but I did not find a good source to solve this problem. Could anybody help me with this issue? Thanks a lot!Victor Solved! However, is it possible that the PCIe can be damaged just by turning of the PXI chassis with the PC turned on? It does not sound reasonable to me, and I hope is just a software problem. 0 Kudos Message 2 of 4 (7,111 Views) Reply 0 Kudos Solution
card; help appreciated. Discussion in 'AMD / ATI' started by Maddog, Mar 5, 2009. Mar 5, 2009 at 10:15 AM #1 Maddog New Member Joined: Mar 5, 2009 Messages: 2 (0.00/day) Thanks Received: 0 Right chaps, I recently bought the new Sapphire Radeon HD4870 x2 video card but I'm having a spot of bother getting it to work. I've plugged it all in properly, and it's receiving power since the fan spins and the light underneath is on. However, the computer doesn't seem to recognise that it even exists. When I start up I hear a couple of beeps and a message on the screen saying "Alert! Error initializing PCI Express slot one. Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility" (or words to that effect). I should state that the only way I'm able to see this message at all is by plugging the monitor into the onboard monitor slot since when I plug it into the video card there is no signal received (so the monitor tells me). Another thing which may be of note is that I am using a flexi riser card for the PCIe slot since that is the only way I can fit the monster of a card in the case. However, the riser card seems to be functioning perfectly well as I had no problems when I used it with my previous card. I am aware that the HD4870 x2 is PCIe 2.0 and my machine will be an earlier version, but my understanding was that it is supposed to be backwards compatible. My power supply is a 750 watt one, with 60 amp on the 12v rail. I have also tried changing settings in the BIOS so that if a card is plugged into the PCIe slot it uses that and disables the onboard graphics, but to no avail. Any help, advice and suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers. EDIT: It's a Dell Dimension 5150, Intel Pentium D 2.80 GHz The motherboard is Dell 0HJ054 Last edited: Mar 5, 2009 Mar 5, 2009 at 10:24 AM #2 eidairaman1 Joined: Jul 2, 2007 Messages: 14,912 (4.41/day) Thanks Received: 2,363 System Specs System Name: Blue Bullet Processor: AMD FX 8350@ 5.1GHz Motherboard: Asus TUF 990FX Sabertooth R2 Cooling: Scythe Ashura, 2×BitFenix 230mm Spectre Pro LED (Blue,Green), 2x BitFenix 140mm Spectre Pro LED Memory: 16 GB Gskill Ripjaws X 2133 Video Card(s): AMD Radeon 290 Sapphire Vapor-X Hard Disk(s): Samsung 840 Pro 256GB, Raptor X 1TB Optical Drive: 2x Pioneer 2209 BD burners LCD/CRT Model: NEC Multisync LCD 1700V (Display Port Adapter) Case: AeroCool Xpredator Evil Blue Edition Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR Power Supply: Seasonic 1250 XM2 Se
