I was able to get a successful build eventually. It looks like there is some issue with the jar you are using. I used the same version and got it working, after removing it and then reimporting. How did you add the jar initially? Also, there are some changes to your build.xml that you may want to consider. You may want to switch the target and source version to be 1.7 instead of 1

been running into compilation issues ever since I started and I've finally reached one I can't figure out how to fix (or maybe error in opening zip file weblogic I'm too tired). Nonetheless, here is my issue: When trying to compile my code, I get hung up on a .jar file which the compiler seems to have trouble unzipping. Below are the commands I am https://developer.ibm.com/answers/questions/181065/why-am-i-getting-error-in-opening-zip-file-during.html putting into the bash shell along with the output that I am receiving: dspcad_user(221): makeme /usr/bin/javac -classpath .:../../../:../../../../lib/mocgraph.jar:../../../../lib/mapss.jar GraphMLEdge.java GraphMLElement.java GraphMLGraph.java GraphMLKey.java GraphMLNode.java GraphMLtoDIFReader.java GraphMLtoDIFParser.java error: error reading ../../../../lib/mapss.jar; error in opening zip file 1 error make: *** [GraphMLEdge.class] Error 1 Upon looking at these lines, we notice two errors, one error from the .jar file and one error in make. Presumably, the error in make is a result of the error in unzipping https://coderanch.com/t/571217/java/java/jar-file-error-opening-zip the .jar file, so we can ignore this for now. The first error that we see arise is the error in opening mapss.jar. My first thought upon seeing this error was that perhaps the .jar file was corrupted, so I deleted it and replaced it with a fresh copy from the repository where I received it. I soon learned that this was not the source of the problem as I received the same error messages from above. Perhaps the location of the .jar file is not entered into the makeme correctly? Upon closer inspection, this is not the case either. Okay, well let's see if I can unzip the .jar file manually on my local machine. jar xf mapss.jar It works perfectly fine and unzips just as expected! Well maybe there is a problem on the server end? I will try to unzip the mapss.jar file on the remote server in which I'm working on. This also works just as expected! So why is the compiler having trouble unzipping this file? Any thoughts? Once executed, it quickly displays the following error: Description Resource Path Location Type Cannot read lifecycle mapping metadata for artifact org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin:maven-plugin:2.3.1:runtime Cause: error in opening zip file pom.xml /maven line 1 Maven Project Build Lifecycle Mapping Problem I tried creating a brand new Maven4MyEclipse project, and it immediately shows this same error as well. How do I resolve this? I am using separately download Maven 3.1.1 instead of embedded version. It is the only version that even lets me run Maven Install successfully. When I tried doing Maven Install with the embedded version I got a similar zip file type of error: [ERROR] Failed to parse plugin descriptor for org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin:2.3.1 (C:\Users\
