Once executed, it quickly displays the following error: Description Resource Path Location Type Cannot read lifecycle mapping metadata for artifact org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin:maven-plugin:2.3.1:runtime Cause: error in opening zip file pom.xml /maven line 1 Maven Project Build Lifecycle Mapping Problem I tried creating a brand new Maven4MyEclipse project, and it immediately shows this same error as well.
