How To Handle Error In Jsp
these .jsp files have links in them in which I use an image for displaying the link. The images are in a folder called images under the webcontent folder. So the path http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21260728 to these in my .jsp file is ../Images/myimage.jpg. Every thing is ok so far. Well I get the idea to put my .jsp files in folders to sort of group them. I created a folder under the webcontent folder. This makes my .jsp files folder and the image folder both one level under the webcontent folder. With in the design view of the jsp the https://coderanch.com/t/511357/Websphere/Dealing-Broken-Links image looks fine but when I run the app the image is the red X(image not found). So I go back and change the path in the .jsp of the images to ./Images/myimage.jsp and they work fine when the app rus but now in the diesign view I have a broken link warning. Steve Dyke Ranch Hand Posts: 1682 1 posted 6 years ago I finally got my links to images to work by replacing the ../ with application name /FAIWebApp/Images... Now I have aproblem with src paths in my links to Servlets. The above will not work when the jsp is in a folder inside the webcontent folder and the servlet is located in the JavaSouce folder of my web app. Post Reply Bookmark Topic Watch Topic New Topic Similar Threads Relative path issue with ubuntu How to know the absolute directory path of WebContent folder? Now it's giving me error in a ton of errors on the HTML in my JSPs for things like parameter values with no quotes and missing end tags. These pages work fine because the cases where I leave these things out are cases where they're optional. We can argue about whether I should include them, but right now I'm trying to make simple updates to a page and I don't want to revisit the entire page. But it's hard to pick out the error in jsp real errors when all these style warnings are flagged as errors. Is there a way to turn this off? I found Window > Preferences > Web > HTML > Validation that lists errors like these and changed them from "Error" to "Ignore", but it made no difference. Apparently this isn't what controls it. (Yes, yes, I know, the style purists will say that I should include all the optional quotes and end tags. I often don't because I see them as clutter. I really don't understand the philosophy that says, "Typing in this text will make absolutely no functional difference, it doesn't do anything at all, but you should do it because, well, because I said so.") eclipse jsp share|improve this question asked Aug 7 '09 at 19:01 Jay 19k63970 Would that be related to a known bug in WTP, fixed in the latest WTP (but working only with Galileo, not Ganymede though...)? stackoverflow.com/questions/1208424/… –VonC Aug 7 '09 at 19:04 I had a similar problem regarding style warnings and going to Window > Preferences > Web > HTML > Validation DID solve it for me on Eclipse Juno (turned some warnings and errors into ignore). –user1884155 Jul 31 '14 at 10:14 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 10 down vote accepted Have you tried: Click Window > Preferences.
