I am not using my cisco skills anywhere near enough obviously. I needed to remove the http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1883207 enable password from my router and used theno enable secretcommand to remove it. I then saved the config, exited the router and logged back in again. Now I get the router>prompt (with the correct router name) but cant go any further than that. I type enable and I get an "% Error in authentication". How do I get past this? Now that I know the console works Ill just reboot the router tonight when the office is closed and see what that does to it. Pretty sure it accepts tftp, copy pasta, etc. to replace the config. I also vaguely remember there being a recovery mode of some sort where it ignores the config. (I think it required physical access) User #55267 800 posts Tathagata Whirlpool Enthusiast reference: whrl.pl/Rc7pjz posted 2012-Mar-14, 1:49 pm ref: whrl.pl/Rc7pjz posted 2012-Mar-14, 1:49 pm O.P. cheers. Yep, I have the config backed up, but thats a last resort. dunno about copy pasta though, that could make a mess of things (be great if they could implement that though, would make lunch easy) :) I can go through the process of a password reset, but since I can get in via the console I shouldnt need to do that, Ill just reload the config if it comes to that.
