170 Points: 1331 Posted: Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:02 am Reply with quote Back to db2 error in assignment top DataStage Release: 8x Job Type: Parallel OS: Unix Dear All, I am facing an issue with SQL Server Data type. Our database is SQL Server 2008. The NLS code page IBM 00142 is being used along with NCHAR/ NVARCHAR as per the guidelines from the DBA. There re two columns,'Status ID' and 'IST_ID' declared as NCHAR and expected value would be 'Y' and 'I' respectively. This values are assigned in Transformer.when the above two columns are declared as 'Unicode' ,some junk values are loaded in these two fields instead of mapping value but when these two columns are not declared as 'Unicode',proper value is being loaded. So,is there any standard for CHAR datatype in SQLSERVER? I do see this exception infrequently. This exception may happen for the exact same record, which was inserted into database successfully before. There is no pattern for http://www.dsxchange.com/viewtopic.php?t=132104&view=previous&sid=0655aa52eb9c1133b5efef8058241d79 this exception to occur. As I said, the exact same record that had success before may throw this exception. There is no constraint in database because of business reason. As such, the same record can be inserted multiple times in database. I am using WAS 5.1.1.3 and DB2 7.x. I am using datasource to get database https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=77777777-0000-0000-0000-000013795586 connection. Any solution/suggestion will be appreciated. Explanation: The data sent for a parameter or column was incompatible with the data type of the associated table column. User Response: Respecify the output binding through SQLBindCol or SQLGetData or the input binding through SQLSetParam or SQLBindParameter. Above verbiage is of no use to me as this error is infrequent without any pattern. As I said before, the exact same message which was successsful inserting before could throw the exception above. Populating works fine for all the tables except for tables witch have decimal data type column definition. I got error message: -- error message -- DWC07356E An agent's processing of a command of type "fetchAndInsertX" failed for edition "105788" of step "IZDELKI". Did you find a solution to this problem? Strange thing in my problem is it was working for at least 10 days without any problem. And one day process didn't run but there was no specific change on the system. I'm trying to export-load for handling this problem but it takes too much time for each table. Please send me if you could find any piece of information.
