On one of them, committing with git has fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly error: error in sideband demultiplexer always been fine, however on the second one, I've started getting this error: fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly error: error in sideband demultiplexer Everything is the same between the two, including the contents of the .git/hooks/post-receive file. Is there a step in configuration I've missed somewhere, or something? I've tried reinitialising the repo twice now, to no avail. My post-receive file is as follows: #!/bin/sh cd .. env -i git reset --hard git corruption share|improve this question edited Jan

The issue was fixed by resetting the head of the corrupt remote repo (with git remote set-head). share|improve this answer edited Sep 9 '15 at 12:02 CharlesB 42.1k11117136 answered Jan 3 '11 at 8:15 VonC 625k19017961881 That looks to have fixed it. Thanks pal. –EJay Jan 3 '11 at 8:21 Actually, the error has come back. >.< –EJay Jan 3 '11 at 8:25 @Qombat: sorry to read that. Can you try to bundle your first repo, copy the resulting file on the second server, clone it and see if the problem persist then? (see stackoverflow.com/questions/3601242/…) –VonC Jan 3 '11 at 8:28 It seems to only happen every so often. I can get commits in that don't give me that error, but sometimes they do. I tried using the -f flag when pushing, didn't help. –EJay Jan 3 '11 at 9:05 @Qombat: but it does apply only for one server, right? Which is why I suggested the bundle and clone of the same repo from the other server in case ther

A few minutes later the same command just worked. Seems to be a git issue (discussion on SO), and it's possible to work around https://github.com/projectkudu/kudu/issues/1410 by adding another commit and just retry. Cheers, Philip ilivewithian commented Mar 11, 2015 We deploy about 30 times a day and see this about twice a day. We've been through the linked stackoverflow question, but we still see the issue. Is this there anything that the azure team can do? projectkudu member davidebbo commented Mar 11, 2015 Can you give more details about your scenario? Are you git pushing directly to the site, or do you have continuous deployment set up? I would assume the latter given your deployment frequency, but just making sure. ilivewithian commented Mar 17, 2015 We are deploying via teamcity, which we use for our testing. We then do a simple git push like so: git.exe push https://username:password@oursite-staging.scm.azurewebsites.net:443/oursite.git HEAD:master --tags -f projectkudu member davidebbo commented Mar 17, 2015 Can you share the site name, either directly or indirectly? ilivewithian commented Mar 18, 2015 One of the sites is pbdev-software.azurewebsites.net and we see this
