exception infrequently. This exception may happen for the exact same record, which was inserted into database successfully before. There is no pattern for this exception to occur. As I said, the exact same record that had success before may throw this exception. There is no constraint in database because of business reason. As such, the same record can be inserted multiple times in database. I am using WAS 5.1.1.3 and DB2 7.x. I am using datasource to get database connection. Any solution/suggestion will be appreciated. Explanation: The data sent for a parameter or column was incompatible with the data type of the associated table column. User Response: Respecify the output binding through SQLBindCol or SQLGetData or the input binding through SQLSetParam or SQLBindParameter. Above verbiage is of no use to me as this error is infrequent without any pattern. As I said before, the exact same message which was successsful inserting before could throw the exception above. The parameter passed to the stored procedure is of type datetime. In the datawindow design mode and when previewing, the data is properly retrieved on entering the datetime parameter. However when this datawindow control is embeded in https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21436015/SQLSTATE-22005-error-code-Invalid-character-value-in-cast-specification.html a window and data is retrieved by passing a datetime parameter through script, the retrieve fails and the error mentioned as below is displayed Select Error: SQLSTATE =22005 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Invalid character value for cast specification I am unable to resolve the problem. If i not change dates and change line:(KATSOPR.CPODRTO = 74) and to(KATSOPR.CPODRTO = 75) and query don't generate error and executes successfully. What happen's? And what i must do? 11-06-2003 12:47 PM In reply to andy.quaglino@pervasive.com Joined on 04-23-2008 Posts 70 Re: ODBCError: SQLSTATE=22005, Native error code=0 Reply Contact I suspect that there may be some value in KATMC.BARKOD in some record that cannot be converted to a SQL_DECIMAL.Changing other parts of the restriction causes the rows with KATMC.BARKOD values that cannot be converted to be avoided. If there is in fact a value in KATMC.BARKOD that cannot be converted then the following statement should cause the error as well when the row with the unconvertible value is retrieved:SELECT KATMC.BARKOD, { fn CONVERT(KATMC.BARKOD, SQL_DECIMAL) }FROM katmcORDER BY KATMC.BARKODSo execute the statement and fetch rows until the error is returned. Suppose the last row retrieved before the error is returned has a KATMC.BARKOD value of 100. The value causing the error can be retrieved by executing the following:SELECT KATMC.BARKODFROM katmcWHERE KATMC.BARKOD > 100ORDER BY KATMC.BARKOD Page 1 of 1 (2 items) 800.287.4383 | Privacy Policy | Terms & Co
