To work around the error, try one of the following: Select Run as Administrator when you run the Renew SAS Software tool, on the Vista operating system. Select All Programs ► SAS ► SAS 9.2 License Renewal & Utilities. Right-click Renew SAS Software. Select Run As Administrator. In the User Access Control dialog box, click Allow. Continue by navigating through the SAS renewal dialog boxes. See SAS Note 31290 "Renewing your license on a SAS 9.2 personal installation on Windows Vista with the Renew SAS Software tool" for more information. As an alternative to steps a through e above, you can also do the following: Right-click the Start button and select Explore. When Windows Explorer opens, navigate to the C:\Program Files\SAS\SASFoundation\9.2\core\sasinst\sasrenew\ directory. Select sasrenew.exe. Then right-click and select Run as Administrator. Continue by navigating through the SAS renewal dialog boxes. I am a SAS programmer still acclimating to the SAS Enterprise Guide environment. I am having several issues regarding authorizations that I think have the same root cause. I am trying to determine whether the resolution lies in the systems security or a SAS/Management Console. Issue 1) I am able to create an RTF file and Right C

SAS Enterprise Guide generates the error in the SAS log. The problem occurs because you do not have authorization to access the created plot file. The task is attempting to write a temporary plot file to the server's configuration directory. The default directory is SASAPP, and in most cases you do not have permission to write to this directory. To work around the problem after the software is installed and configured, follow these steps. The steps allow you to create new files within the server's configuration directory while keeping the existing configuration files set to their original access levels. On the server's configuration directory (for example, SASAPP), give all permissions (READ/WRITE/CREATE/DELETE) to all users. Set these permissions so that they are NOT inherited by any subdirectories. Then, reset the rights for all files and subdirectories to the original values as assigned during configuration.
