crashed, that is because Microsoft changed the inner workings of this particular font and all the issues stemmed from that. The solution to this issue is telling Adobe Distiller not to 'Rely on System Fonts only' do not use document fonts.' By doing this, Distiller disregards any of your own fonts and instead works with the fonts contained in the document. The following is a similar error that may occur: %%[ warning: postscript error. no pdf file produced. ] %% %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% %%[Page: 1]%% %%[Page: 2]%% %%[Page: 3]%% %%[Page: 4]%% %%[Page: 5]%% %%[Page: 6]%% %%[Page: 7]%% Cambria not found, using Courier. %%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: xshow ]%% Stack: [85 0] ( ) %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %% This error can be resolved by changing one of the Adobe PDF printer settings. When you are in the print dialog, and you have selected the appropriate PDF printer, select "Properties." In the dialog box, there should be a tab titled "Adobe PDF Settings," and it should look like the below image. Un-check "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." This solves the issue for documents created using XP or Vista, then upgraded to Windows 7. The Cambria font somehow gets changed between XP/Vista and Win7. This post will be updated if our help desk finds a situation where this "fix" does not work. Guy, we highly recommend that you visit our Guide for New Members. Solved: Cannot print to Adobe Acrobat from Thunderbird Discussion in 'Web & Email' started by Alex Ethridge, Apr 17, 2012. When I attempt to print to Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro from Thunderbird 11, I get the following error; but, printing the same mail from Eudora on the same system works fine: ================= %%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%% Cambria not found, using Courier. %%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: show ]%% Stack: ( ) %%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%% %%[ Warning: PostScript error. Look through this post at Adobe's site on distiller settings. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/510096 DoubleHelix, Apr 17, 2012 #2 Alex Ethridge Thread Starter Joined: Apr 10, 2000 Messages: 8,790 Thanks. I found the solution at your linked site. Here it is in case anyone else happens along with the same problem: In the print dialog, select the Acrobat printer. Then select "Properties." Click the tab titled "Adobe PDF Settings". Un-check "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts". Alex Ethridge, Apr 18, 2012 #3 Alex Ethridge Thread Starter Joined: Apr 10, 2000 Messages: 8,790 The above works but only for the current document and the selection must be re-made every time. A better solution is to set this as the default in the Acrobat program rather than just in the print dialog. Here's how (assuming Windows 7 and Acrobat 9 Professional): Click Windows Orb Click Control Panel Click Devices and Printers Right-click Adobe PDF printer Select Printer Properties (as opposed to just "Properties") Click Advanced tab Click Printing Defaults button De-select Rely on system fonts only . . . Click Apply Click OK Click OK again YouÂ’re done Alex Ethridge, May 4, 2012 #4 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. Please start a New Thr
