PDFs print without a problem.ERROR: invalidfontOFFENDING COMMAND: xshowIt will begin the doc ok but stop in the middle and spit out a page with the above error. If pdf error invalidfont offendingcommand show he reprints the doc, it will stop at a different spot with the same error page at the end. He has tried many different PowerPoint docs with the same result.I tried updateing the firmware on the the Phaser 8560 to the latest. Also did a PS NVRAM reset. Any ideas? Solved! Go to Solution. Problem seems to be caused by an incompatibility with Cambria font.Current version of Acrobat Professional is 8.1.7.MS Word's "Save As PDF" addon works. You do not indicate what the problem is, but it is likely that you are not embedding the font. Check your job settings and be sure the Cambria is set to embed. That at least results in clues, and apparently it choking because of a WP font; WP MathA. The problem? I can't find any characters using WP MathA font in the document. error invalidfont I used Find, with the Format button set for Font>WP MathA, and ^? for any character, ^# for any digit, and ^$ for any letter, and nothing is found. What do ya'll suggest to find the offending font? Note that the font name must be specified correctly. And, if you're pasting content such as this, you might find it advantageous to use Paste Special > Unformatted Text. No PDF file produced. ] %% ] According to this article from the Adobe Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/510096, the errors occurred because the document in question was created on a system using either Windows XP or Windows Vista. If you were using Windows 7 to create a PDF of your document and the process crashed, that is because Microsoft changed the inner workings of this particular font and all the issues stemmed from that. The solution to this issue is telling Adobe Distiller not to 'Rely on System Fonts only' do not use document fonts.' By doing this, Distiller disregards any of your own fonts and instead works with the fonts contained in the document. No PDF file produced. ] %% This error can be resolved by changing one of the Adobe PDF printer settings. When you are in the print dialog, and you have selected the appropriate PDF printer, select "Properties." In the dialog box, there should be a tab titled "Adobe PDF Settings," and it should look like the below image. Un-check "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts." This solves the issue for documents created using XP or Vista, then upgraded to Windows 7. The Cambria font somehow gets changed between XP/Vista and Win7. This post will be updated if our help desk finds a situation where this "fix" does not work.
