it gives an this error:error loading operating system. I did remove vm tools before I converted. Or boot from the 2003 installation CD and perform a repair installation. I know that VMWare supports booting vmdk files from either virtual IDE or SCSI controllers, while Hyper-V only supports booting from IDE. You could try attaching the vmdk to a IDE controller on the VMWare VM and boot it, so that the OS boot information is correct before the conversion. TestDisk. Select [No Log]. Select the virtual disk. Select [Intel]. Select [MBR Code]. Hit ‘y' twice. Quit TestDisk. Unmount the disk, and try it again in Hyper-V. If that fails, error loading try rebuilding the MBR: Repeat steps 2 - 6 above. Select [Advanced] Select the boot partition, with [Boot] highlighted. Select [Rebuild BS]. This may take about 15 minutes to complete. After it is finished, error loading operating select [Write] and confirm. Quit. Unmount the disk, and try it again in Hyper-V.
