The following information is available about this object: Address of object: http://Web address Content Type: text/html Possible location of viewer: Microsoft ActiveX Gallery Note: Before you try any solution, you should always check the Browser Configuration. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, perform the following steps: If you use Adobe Acrobat Reader with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher and you receive the preceding error when you attempt to open a PDF file, perform the following steps: For Adobe 4.0 or 4.5: Close Internet Explorer 5.5. Click Start, click Programs, and open Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0. or 4.5. Click File, click Preferences, and then click General. Click to clear the Web Browser Integration check box. (NOTE: If it is not check then check it and have them close it and open IE again and try to open document) Close Adobe Acrobat Reader. Restart Internet Explorer 5.5 and return to the Web page again. This time you are prompted to open the PDF file. For Adobe 5.0: Close Internet Explorer 5.5. Click Start, click Programs, and open Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. Click Edit, click Preferences, click Options. Click Reset All Warnings, then click OK. Close the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Restart Internet Explorer 5.5 and return to the Web page again. This time you are prompted to open the PDF file. For Adobe 6.0 : Adobe 6.0.1. Wat does that mean? I was going to download an object with a content type of application/ octect-stream when a window appears and says that I have to download a viewer for the object. It says that I can download it at Microsoft ActiveX Gallery but I can't find http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?76955-Error-locating-Object-Handler-window-appears-Wat-does-that-mean it.
