the document doesn't get printed. The printer has a PCL6 driver. I tried updating the driver to no avail. My next step is to try a PCL5e driver. Does anybody have any suggestions? Mzun, Jul 27, 2011 #1 spatian116 Joined: Jan 24, 2010 Messages: 157 I just did a quick Google and it's very likely that it's caused by the driver. So yeah, change the driver spatian116, Jul 27, 2011 #2 Mzun Thread Starter Joined: Jun 29, 2011 Messages: 65 The PCL5e driver was installed over a week ago and no errors were reported since, so I'm going to mark this as solved. On larger prints (5 pages +) it seems to stop printing after so many pages and https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/hardware/threads/107444/pcl-xl-error print out the following error message, then followed by pages with a http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/57853-3-problems-laserjet-p4015n-connected-jetdirect-300x single line of strange characters on each page: PCL XL error Subsystem: USERSTREAM Error: MissingData Operator: NewPath Position: 97553 It’s difficult to recreate the problem, it seems to happen randomly. This problem has started happening since we had some new servers put in a month ago. We are running the same server error missing software (Windows Server 2003) as we had on the old servers. We are also using the same printer drivers for the printers, and every setting on the printers on the new server is exactly the same as the old one. What does the error message mean? And is there something which could be causing this error? Some of the things I have tried with no error missing data success are: - Different printer driver on the server - Deleting all mapped printers on the PC’s, removing the printer driver, then adding the printer back to the users PC Many thanks for any advice usb-peripherals dd501 8 posts since Jan 2008 Community Member 3Contributors 4Replies 5Views 8 YearsDiscussion Span 7 Years Ago Last Post by kleinbaas 0 mechbas -5 8 Years Ago >>>MissingData Looks suspiciously like a RAM error somewhere. Lately its been acting up and no documents will print from the printer. Here's whats going on: If the printer is connected through either USB, Parrallel (straight to the computers printer port), or through Ethernet everything is working fine. But here we need two network connections (two separate networks) which we usually do by using a Jetdirect 300x print server along with the ethernet connection. If you install the printer through the Parrallel to the Jetdirect box, the printer is seen and installs fine. It uses the HP PCL6 driver and I can print a test page. The next time I try to print I get the following: Printer Display Output: Processing.... Data Recieved Ready Data Recieved Ready Data Recieved Ready This loop continues and eventually the print job fails to print. The printer will also randomly print error pages such as: PCL XL error Subsystem: Kernel Error: IllegalOperatorSequence Operator: 0x1b Position: 769 OR PCL XL error Subsystem: Userstream Error: Missing Data Operator: 0xf8 Position: 769 Most of them are the Kernel and IllegalOperatorSequence. My reasearch as found that this can be due to errors in the PCL6 driver but I've tried the PCL5 and PS drivers with no luck. The printer will not function with these drivers at all. I have done a cold reset on the printer, updated the firmware of the printer and the jetdirect box with no difference in result. The printer and jetdirect box work fine separately but when put together the problem occurs. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated as I would like to get this printer up and running asap.
