The physical server (source of http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=270320 the image) is CentOS 5.x running with two physical HDDs on Linux software RAID 1. We imaged only the first HDD and are restoring only the first HDD. We will rebild the array after we get the system up and running normally.Unfortunately, after restoring the image to virtual disk, then rebooting, we end up with http://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32301 the following kernel panic error:Loading ata.piix.ko moduleWaiting for driver initialization.Scanning and configuring dmraid supported devicesmd: Autodetecting RAID arrays.md: autorun ...md: autorun DONE.Trying to resume from /dev/sdb1Unable to access resume device (/dev/sdb1)Creating root device.Mounting root filesystem.EXT3-fs: unable to read superblockmount: error mounting /dev/root on /sysroot as ext3: Invalid argumentSetting up other filesystems.Setting up new root fssetuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directorysetuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directorySwitching to new root and running init.unmounting old /devunmounting /procunmounting /sysswitchroot: mount failed: No such file or directoryKernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!I have scoured the internet for days trying to resolve but have not be successful. The hardware is purely basic plain SATA JBOD, but the BIOS and driver implement the raid behind the systems back. Configure the BIOS for AHCI native SATA, and use linux native raid.
