I googled it, and found that it has something to do with setting the proper character set encoding, but I am loading an image with this (the url would end up being something like http://www.mysite.com/images/this_image.jpg). How do I get this to work in IE? var originalSRC = $("#bigImage").attr("src"); $(".tinyThumb").mouseenter(function(){ $("#oiLoad").html(''); var oldSRC = $(this).attr("src"); var newSRC = "http://"+window.location.host+oldSRC.replace("tiny_thumbs/xtn_",""); $("#bigImage").load(newSRC,function(e){ $("#oiLoad").empty(); $("#bigImage").attr("src",newSRC); }); }); ajax internet-explorer xmlhttprequest share|improve this question asked Dec 22 '10 at 16:48 Atomix 98532040 1 Not realy an answer but I did notice you are not closing your img tag. $("#oiLoad").html(''); Should be $("#oiLoad").html(''); –Agile Jedi Dec 22 '10 at 16:56 @Agile: Actually, that is the answer. IE will choke om that. –SLaks Dec 22 '10 at 17:00 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 4 down vote accepted Not realy an answer but I did notice you are not closing your img tag. $("#oiLoad").html(''); Should be closed with a backslash share|improve this answer edited Sep 26 '13 at 9:20 Drew Noakes 127k73394489 answered Dec 23 '10 at 16:28 Agile Jedi 1,6952914 add a comment| up vote 1 down vote As Agile Jedi said, you need to close the tag. share|improve this answer answered Dec 22 '10 at 18:51 SLaks 540k9313461515 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting you

Some .swf files are loaded, and some are not. The error I get is the following: Could not complete the operation due to error c00ce514. I googled about this error, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9783330/getting-the-c00ce514-error-in-ie-when-attemping-to-load-a-swf-file and found that this is due a charset issue or something like that; some people offered solution regarding html/xml files, but I'm not sure how to fix this for a .swf file. Any ideas/workarounds? jquery ajax internet-explorer flash share|improve this question asked Mar 20 '12 at 8:13 CCrawler 2192620 I am having the same problem with preloading wav files, also only crushing at IE :-( Would love to know the solution :-/ –SamiSalami Aug 31 '12 at 12:38 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Look at this ticket: http://bugs.jquery.com/ticket/11426 If I get it right: IE cannot handle binary files as a response in AJAX calls, so you have to prevent IE from executing the call. Preloading a swf in IE does not seem to be possible with an AJAX call. share|improve this answer answered Aug 31 '12 at 13:13 SamiSalami 3671621 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. I am adding the paging behavior as so: dpGridToLoad.Behaviors.Add(new http://system-center.me/miscellaneous/internet-explore-firefox-ajax-could-not-complete-the-operation-due-to-error-c00ce514-message/ Infragistics.Web.UI.GridControls.Paging()); dpGridToLoad.Behaviors.Paging.Enabled = true; dpGridToLoad.Behaviors.Paging.PagerAppearance = Infragistics.Web.UI.GridControls.PagerAppearance.Top; dpGridToLoad.Behaviors.Paging.PagerMode = Infragistics.Web.UI.GridControls.PagerMode.NumericFirstLast; dpGridToLoad.Behaviors.Paging.PageSize = iNumberOfRecordsPerPage; However, whenever I try to click on a new page in the pager (such as page 2), I get an error no Javascript error in the Infragistics controls that says 'Could not complete the operation due to error c00ce514' The error occurs in the namespace Infragistics.Web.UI and in the $IG.CallbackRequestHandler, specifically at line: var response = me._request.responseText Is there something I am missing somewhere in my dynamic creation of the WDG? What could be causing this error? BTW, my WDG is located inside an update panel. /Tom error no c00ce514 Reply Post Points: 50 All Replies [Infragistics]Lyuba Points 6,698 Replied On: Fri, Aug 6 2010 3:34 AM Reply Suggested by [Infragistics]Lyuba Hello Tom, Which Infragistics version are you using? I tried replicating this with 10.2.20102.1011, but I didn’t succeed. Can you attach your aspx and cs pages so I can take a look how exactly you are configuring the grid and how are you binding it? Now it seems to work perfectly. It seems there are a number of issues that occur when one tries to dynamically create a WebDataGrid. Another developer in my unit has also found this to be true. Ev
by sharon I've been working on some code which use Ajax for autocomplete implementing. to accomplish this mission I've created : Database (unicode_general_ci) HTML page which show the results of the autocomplete, encoded as UTF-8 with ‘Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8' PHP file which used to query the Database, also encoded as UTF-8 with ‘Content-type: text/html; charset=utf-8' and "SET NAMES ‘UTF8′" query to the database. so.. as it sounds.. all the parts configured well for using UTF-8. so let's see… in Firefox.. the code is working great, in Internet Explorer, I'm getting the error : "Could not complete the operation due to error c00ce514", this error indicates that Microsoft XML Parser is having problems when parsing the AJAX response string. the reasons for this error are : the encoding of the requested file or the encoding of the sent string… the first reason could be solved by setting the charset with the header command… the second (which solved my problem..) is to encode the sent string. in my case I sent the string by GET method : the string that was sent to the "findtxt.php?str=" wasn't encoded in UTF-8 somehow so… I made a little change of the code like this : The encodeURIComponent() function encodes a URI component. This function encodes special characters. In addition, it encodes the following characters: , / ? : @ & = + $ # That's it, have fun.
