Unable To Access File Since It Is Locked
I've been using the latest vDR to backup our vSphere 4.1 cluster for a while now, with

no problems. I was in doing some fairly major work over the weekend on the cluster storage, but didn't realise that the vDR backups had failed on a

couple of hosts. While all my work went well, I've noticed that two of the VM's in the cluster show a single snapshot with the name datarecovery (obviously by vDR). If I try to delete the snapshot though, I immediately get the following error in vSphere; A general system error occurred: concurrent accessThe VMware kb (1027278) article just says contact them, as it could mean "This error indicates that snapshots previously pointed at separate virtual disks are now incorrectly pointed to the same virtual disk". Sounds a bit cryptic!I've had to start one of the VM's as it's a critical resource (it's running ok), but I've left the other one powered off. Doesn't matter if the VM is on or off though, you can't delete the snapshot. Anyone got any ideas before I contact VMware? 2285Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. A word of warning, if you ever get this problem, don't try and fix it yourself! Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions Actions Remove from profile Feature on your profile More Like This Retrieving data ... When I try to remove the snapshot it throws me an error message - "A General System Error Occured:Invalid Fault". Even I tried deleting the VM from the Host (delete from disk) , Now I unable to access get "The operation is not allowed in the current state". Neither I am able to delete the snapshot nor delete the VM , what is wrong here. I checked , there are no CD/DVD Rom connected to the VM. Its only powered off. How to resolve this? See my EE Article HOW TO: VMware Snapshots :- Be Patient You cannot delete the Snapshot possibly because another task is occuring on the VM. 1. Restart VMware vCenter Server Service if applicable 2. Login to ESXi console and Restart Network Management Agents 3. Otherwise restart the Server (cold power off) 0 LVL 8 Overall: Level 8 Windows
