The db2 param is defined as CHAR 32000 and the .net app is passing in about 20000 characters and the call throws an error. This error seems to occur when the .net app is passing data that contains double byte chars. How do I pass a string to a DB2 stored procedure that contains double byte characters? The IBM Error code is 6107. .net db2 rpg share|improve this question edited May 6 '13 at 14:49 asked Apr 23 '13 at 18:29 magic-c0d3r 1,70354083 What is the sql code you are receiving? –AngocA Apr 23 '13 at 20:21 Were you ever able to fix the issue? –CailinP Jul 7 '14 at 14:52 Yes. The data type needs to match in .net and as400 program. –magic-c0d3r Jul 10 '14 at 17:05 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Perhaps you meant to define it as VARCHAR 32000. CHAR is fixed length, yet your .NET app is not sending the length defined. share|improve this answer answered Apr 23 '13 at 23:18 WarrenT 3,7681026 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote If you are trying to pass 20K double byte characters into a 32K character field, the

After opening a file, the application can determine the buffer size required to store a row, use the cursor APIs to move, and optionally retrieve one or more rows of data using the row-level binding. Data is converted to default SQL data types, as defined in ODBC, and listed in the following table: DB2 data typeDefault SQL Data TypeExposed as Native Type in SQLGetTypeInfoComments BIGINT An eight-byte integer. This data type is not supported by the ODBC Driver for DB2. BLOB A Binary Large Object (BLOB) is a varying-length string that can be up to 2 gigabytes in length. A BLOB is primarily intended to hold binary data. This data type is not supported by the ODBC Driver for DB2. CHAR (BIT)SQL_BINARYNoA fixed length (double-byte only) character string. CHAR (SBCS)SQL_CHARYesA fixed-length SBCS character string. CHAR (MIXED)SQL_CHARNoA fixed-length mixed (single and double-byte) character string. CLOB A Character Large Object (CLOB) is a varying-length string that can be up to 2 gigabytes in length. A CLOB is used to store large single-byte character set data.
