Check if the RAM is on HP's approved list for your machine - you can also check for your specific motherboard with the RAM manufacturer. Lately, we've been http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/bccode-error-messages-daily.123807/ having a random shutdown problem, and we'd hoped we'd solved it with a new GeForce 6600GT video card and downloaded the new drivers ... a whole 24 hours go by without a random shutdown! Huzzah! Then, last night ... you guessed it. Random shutdown. Then, today, before we had a chance to do anything ... random shutdown. After the reboot, we get THIS message from Computer Hell: "Your system has recovered from a https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21611090/Serious-Error-Recovery-Message-Random-Shutdown-Problem.html serious error." Here are the *THIRTEEN* error codes that I copied from the pop-up error notifications. Ashampoo is the better of the two you listed so that is what I'd suggest you use unless you don't like it for some reason. Also, when enabling/disabling a firewall always follow that with a reboot or in some cases your action will not be "active". Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. The following will help with routing table issues... 1. Turn off the computer. 2. Turn off any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 3. Turn off the cable/dsl modem. 4. Wait for a couple of minutes. 5. Turn on the cable/dsl modem. 6. Wait for a couple of minutes. 7. Turn on any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 8. Wait for a couple of minutes. 9. Finally turn back on your computer. March 31, 200
