Otherwise carry on. I don't want to load swfobject.js if the HTML5 features are available - as it would a waste of resources. What I am trying to do is: IF any of the features I am checking for returns false, dynamically load in my Flash fallback. I am using SWFObject to embed my flash, each time I have tried I get the usual swfobject is not defined error. I have tried a few ways, this being my latest: var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0]; var script = document.createElement('script'); script.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript'); script.setAttribute('src', 'path/to/swfobject.js'); head.appendChild(script); This will load my SWF JavaScript file into the head without a problem, however running my embed code to load in my SWFObject complains that swfobject is NOT defined. Perhaps I am going about it the wrong way? ADVICE would be appreciated, I get the feeling I may be going down the completely wrong track with the way I am trying to achieve this javascript flash swfobject share|improve this question edited Nov 3 '14 at 9:27 Peter Herdenborg 3,4901017 asked Nov 3 '14 at 9:20 JustSteveKing 5581319 closed as too broad by Andrew Barber Nov 11 '14 at 20:10 There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format.
