rather trying with error prone external hard drive. Even at that moment, i even thought my old data was lost and in fact i was looking for some data recovery tools and other solutions https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/error-performing-inpage-operation-104879/ to recover my data from hard drive. (probably a complex process :P) Also When i was navigating to Disk Management (Storage) utility under Computer Management, I was noticing for Errors in hard drive the file type was empty rather (FAT/NTFS) and free size as full disk size, which worried me as i thought the hard drive was corrupted or data should have been erased completely. Physical problems on the diskette media, and is probably unrelated to paging operations involving the Windows paging file The error message can also mean that your drive is in bad state with some bad sectors which is the reason. Solution: Here is the Easy way to Solve "inpage error" or "Error Performing Inpage Operation" by below step. But this simple tip might be easy to trouble shoot and take bit too long (depends on disk size and amount of errors) Start > Run > type in cmd then click OK to get a command prompt. Type chkdsk e: /r (replace e: with the drive letter of your external hard drive with the error). Also you could use a /f instead of /r. /r attempts to recover bad sectors. /f tries to fix bad sectors. /f does not try to repair. so you would have more data loss, but if its that bad its another option. /? will show all options Might not work if drive is full, needs room to recover files. it will let you know if that happens. Visual Studio Languages , Windows Desktop Development > Visual C++ Question 0 Sign in to vote Hello, In order to diagnose stability https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/7636c65f-532d-4d43-b22b-8cd2252c16ad/loadlibrary-fails-with-the-error-999-errorswaperror-error-performing-inpage-operation?forum=vcgeneral issues with our software, we have reduced the problem by building an application that loads/unloads infinitly a native C++ dll (rebased) through a network share. After a while (sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 15 jours), the LoadLibrary fails with the error 999: ERROR_SWAPERROR: Error performing inpage operation. I'm suspecting a problem with the network share or network latency is causing LoadLibrary to fail. Our error performing original problem consists of great instability with our software when it is ran on a Terminal Server with its files (executable, dll, etc.) accessed through a network share. The software crashes, with no recognizable pattern, with an EXCEPTION_IN_PAGE_ERROR. Procmon simply informs us of a "Network Error". Wireshark informs us that no network requests to the file server are done when the application error performing inpage crashes...very strange. If we copy the files locally, on the Terminal Server, all runs well. Since we do not have any control on how the paging of the dll is done, we tried to simulate it through infinite calls to LoadLibrary. Are both problems related? Anyone with any ideas? The Terminal Server is as follows: Item Value OS Name Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard Version 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002 Other OS Description Not Available OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation System Name TSM-NB-OS66 System Manufacturer HP System Model ProLiant BL460c G1 System Type x64-based PC Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5410 @ 2.33GHz, 2332 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) Processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5410 @ 2.33GHz, 2332 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s) BIOS Version/Date HP I15, 10.07.2009 SMBIOS Version 2.4 Windows Directory C:\Windows System Directory C:\Windows\system32 Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume1 Locale Norge Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.0.6002.18005" User Name NSB-BIL\administrator Time Zone W.
